Syncing Weight to Google Fit

Just got my scale today and I have been trying to get the Health Mate to sync the weight to Google Fit. It just won't work. If I set my weight in Google Fit, it (as well steps) seems to be synced to the Health Mate from Google Fit so the connection exists.

EDIT (A day later): This morning the Mate did it. It automatically synced the weight to Google Fit. Is there some feature that if weight is already reported to the Google Fit by some other way for that day, then the Mate won't do it? Or maybe yesterday was just bad day otherwise. I will keep tracking this.

If anyone else is still having this problem, I would contact customer service directly. I did a few weeks ago and brought attention to it. There is apparently a team working on it but since they haven't provided an update the ticket was put on hold. Maybe if more people open tickets it will become a bigger priority.

If you do, mention that you are having the same issues as ticket #1357229. Hope this helps!

Hello everyone. I'm having the same problem about one month ago. Already removed the connection and configured it again but didn’t solve.

I have a Galaxy S9 fully updated and all the apps updated.

I’ll keep trying and inform in case of good news.

Jumping on this thread to say I have the same issue.

Interestingly, when I allow Health Mate to import data from Google Fit (such as step count), that works just fine. It still won't export my weight data to Google Fit though.

One thing I have found that helped me, at least temporarily is to choose to export an additional data point to Google Fit. I was just exporting weight data but when I added blood pressure, the app prompted me to access the Google Fit integration again and then most recent weight was synced from Health Mate to Google Fit.

gregaudio That's a great example of the sloppiness/arrogance of Withings as they've known about these problems for years, but refused to address them.  You have keenly pointed out how the app is poorly coded, and could easily be fixed.

@shopping, I wouldn't jump that fast to conclusions... Withings *does* sync seamlessly with Garmin Connect. So, I'm tempted to think the problem _might_ be on Google's end (Fit).

felipers+withings Before buying the Withings Body Cardio Scale for 150 Euros I had a Scale from a rather unknown brand for under 50 Euros. The cheap Scale managed to sync seamlessly with Google Fit all the time.

I am shocked to find out that I will have to go back to the cheap scale if I want to have proper sync with Google Fit. This is really disappointing to me :(

I am also shocked that nobody of Withings did look at their own forum within the last year. It leaves me with the impression that they don't care too much about their customers. :(

And, still, jormaspitz, it _might_ , as I've stressed before, be a problem on any of them. No way for us to be sure who (Withings or Google) broke the connection. I'm as frustrated as you that it stopped working. But, honestly, to me Google has been clearly worst than Withings on their care for Fit. I've complained to both. None answered. Withings still syncs with Garmin Connect. This is the data I have. Try the old scale and tell us how it goes, please.

felipers+withings Just tried the old scale and it did sync within seconds. So it's definitely possible to properly sync data to Google Fit.

But I do agree with you that Google (Fit) isn't better when it comes to customer care. And I actually have the problem now that it's not possible to delete this (test)measurement in Google Fit. I wrote them months ago about this but without effect.

Then again I remember that I bought a Withings Scale because it's possible to sync with Heads Up Health. And I just checked and it's syncing without any problems. My Plan is to get rid of Google Fit and use Heads Up Health as the central information app. Now I just need a smart watch/fitness tracker that synces do HuH and I can delete Google Fit...

I sent today a support request with a link to this forum thread to the Withings-support. Maybe somebody has mercy an wants to help their customers...

I stumbled across a workaround for this. The MyFitnessPal app syncs with Google Fit and Withings Syncs with MyFitnessPal. So after I had them all linked up I started seeing my weight in Google Fit again (via MyFitnessPal). Kind of a crummy workaround but it might help you if you use MyFitnessPal anyway. I'm not sure if it syncs regularly if you're not using MyFitnessPal regularly either.

sirhcybe Thanks for that tip! I'll use this workaround for the time being. From my checking, Google Fit doesn't update with the weight value until the MyFitnessPal app has been opened. But at least the data eventually finds its way to Google Fit! - I'm not too concerned about getting it instantly; I just want to have all my data consolidated in one place. Thanks!

I have ran into the same problem - Health Mate sync'd my scale data to Google Fit for years then suddenly stopped and data became out of sync for months. So I did all of the following, and eventually it sync'd:

    • *Deactivate and re-linked Google Fit and Health Mate to just essential data needed, in my case it's weight export and steps import - there are 2 quirky security alerts notification that came up on my Pixel 3 I had to click Allow (I do not know the cause of this)
    • *Clear the cache of both apps
    • *Restarted the phone
    • *Closed both apps, and relaunch

After doing all of the above, the data still did not synchronize - what I learned about this integration is that it triggers when an a new scale reading occurs. After stepping on the scale, almost immediately the "Last synchronization" time stamp on Health Mate with Google Fit is updated, and Google Fit immediately received the new reading and all of the data it had missed previously.

    I hope this helps someone.

Syncing to Google Fit appears to be broken again for me. I haven't had a weight show up in Google Fit since Oct 26th.

I've unlinked and relinked, even got a new phone and it's not syncing weight data.

Agree, still broken. Withings has spent zero effort on making this work for over a year. Includes the Sleep product too, which claims Fit integration but almost never works.

I have the same issue. Tried deactivating GoogleFit and reactivating it. Tried reinstalling the App. I will not even bother inputting my weights manually in the hopes that it would soon work. I love the device but if this issue is not resolved, I'm going to purchase Fitbit Aria 2 once it's available on Amazon.

I sold now my Scanwatch and bought a Garmin Fenix 6 Solar - I have now whatever I wanted to have within a health- and traing-smartwatch. I 'm now much more happy, although I liked the Scanwatch, but in summary it isn't a finished product.

Still having this issue where it doesn't seem to reflect in Google Fit. I can see up to yesterday's date and that's it.
