    Hello,

While we await the highly anticipated enhancements to our sleep tracking system which was the winner of our poll; we will be happy to share a quick piece about how the watch tracks sleep stages.

The sleep stages (e.g. light and deep) are measured based on wrist movements.

I used to use a Fitbit which DID track both sleep and naps. It would all be on the same timeline, but the nap would appear separately and be recorded as sleep. On the other hand, I meditate for 30 to 40 minutes in the morning right after getting up. The tracker identifies this as sleep which adds to the night's total.

Is it not possible to allow the user to manually tell the tracker they are about to sleep and that they have woken up? The Microsoft Band allowed this. The Band would recognise sleep automatically butbif the user did a manual start and stop the sleep record would show all interruptions during the period as part of the sleep event. This meansba disturbed night is shown as such. Healthmate at the moment would only show onenpart of the disturbed night as sleep and allow the user to block in the gaps. This is sub-optimal.

My Fitbit would track naps that were around 40min or over which was great for tracking sleep patterns and debt. It's pretty ridiculous that naps don't get tracked since they are very important

I work nights, so tracking sleep during the day is what I need to track. How can I extract that from my Steel HR?

As mentioned by Phillip, the MS Band let the user indicate the start of the sleep time, as in "hey, I am going to bed now". This was one of my favourite features, since it helped me track the "I went to bed and I fell asleep" difference.
That and the nap tracking is what I miss the most. Do t know why they would remove the nap support!

Fast forward to 2021 shows naps recorded in the Sleep Pad app as a separate event that does NOT accrue in total sleep quantity. This doesn't make any sense to me. It's alright to show it as a separate event but why not integrate it with the overnight timeline?

Is there a way to link both naps and sleep time together?

I have a parent living with Alzheimer’s and his sleep patterns are a challenge. He will lay down to bed but the device will record a portion of his sleep pattern as a nap. This is highly confusing and we are not having data to be serve our parent.

Hi Withing when NAPS are recorded can we please have the break down off light and deep sleep time which is missing. And also reduce the NAP time to 2hrs.

    please update.
