Snoring and Heartrate

    According to this article, the Sleep uses Ballistocardiography. Wikipedia says that "Ballistocardiography is a technique for producing a graphical representation of repetitive motions of the human body arising from the sudden ejection of blood into the great vessels with each heart beat."

    So, the mat is sensing each time your body shudders with your heartbeat.

    I'm not sure about the snoring, but it must have some kind of fancy signal processing to reject other kinds of noise.
