I have been discussing this with support. I am 183cm 85kg male. I walked 40 minutes in snow. Heart rate was "intense" for 20 minutes and "moderate" for 17 minutes. The calorie figure was 86 kcal. This cannot be correct! I probably consume as much sitting down. According support: "Based on the information, the amount of calories burned for 40 minutes sounds accurate based on our algorithm." So, it seems it is not a bug. It is a feature.

Would love to be able to import the burned calories from MyFitnessPall. These are imported form my Gamin equipment and are in my opinion more accurate.

I got fed up with waiting for an update or other solution to this problem. I purchased the new Honor Magic Watch 2. What a difference with accuracy! Calorie consumption during workouts is in line with Suunto and Polar computers, so I believe it is quite good. Using the famous Firstbeat technology, it also gives you VO2 Max and apparently even SpO2  (blood oxygen saturation) is coming later. On top of that such goodies as GPS, barometer, all kinds of messages, phone calls from the watch, etc. Two weeks with one charge, one week with always-on-display. Only for 199 euro (209 USD). Good riddance, Withings, and your crappy support and customer service!
