    Hello Withings Community,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this, as everyone may know there is an issue affecting Google Fit which prevents data from being imported into the Health Mate app, which also affects other apps that import data from Google Fit.

Our development team is developing a workaround for this issue which should be available in version 4.5.4 of the Health Mate app.

    Follow up.

Daily steps do not sync to Google Fit. However identified activities are synced to Google Fit and the steps total of those activities is being incorrectly sent as the daily steps total. Hence Google Fit always reports a steps figure too low.

Note: This doesn't happen with Huawei Health and with Mi Fit - both apps work correctly with both identified activities and total daily steps. Clearly this isn't a Google problem, its a Withings problem which their developers need to acknowledge and fix.

I am having the same issue. Activities are sync'd but not daily steps.

Overall I am very dissatisfied with the lack of communication/feedback as well as the lack of technical support.

Main features of the app have been broken for +4 months with no statement other that "developers know there is an issue".

At this point you'd think someone could have just reprogrammed it from the ground up...

Have the same issue at this moment, my activities are not synced anymore to Google Fit since two days. Even when unlinking the account and linking doesn't solve the issue!

Maybe its time for dissatisfied users to make a group action complaint to Trading Standards regarding misleading and false claims of functionality with the Health Mate app. Technology companies seem to be able to repeatedly make false claims and get away with it while users are left feeling powerless or often sent round in circles like hamsters on a wheel with endless rebooting, uninstalling, reinstalling, Bluetooth on/off etc etc in response to dumb call centre box tickers masquerading as support.

Buyers need a combined big boot to shift the complacency and / or inadequacy and demand action !!!

    There.... thats better!

Also not working for me. Very disappointed. If they won't fix this, I'm gonna start wearing my old Fitbit again . Please resolve this issue.

Hello, I have the same issue and I think the problem is that Health Mate would only sync 'activities' but the default walking steps don't seam to be recorded as activities like when you start any sport activity manually.

    Bug Report

Health Mate is not synchronizing steps with Google Fit unless an activity is manually started.

    Expected Behavior:

The steps which are automatically recorded by our health tracking device (e.g. Steel HR) should be synchronized to Google Fit.

    Observed Behavior:

Our watch correctly records the steps and Health Mate shows the statistic, but Health Mate does not record them as "walking activity" and it seams as if only activities get synchronized with Google Fit.

Each time, we have to manually start an activity if we want any records to be synchronized with Google Fit.

Possible Solutions for the Health Mate Software:

    1. Health Mate could simply create a walking activity for each time when it records any steps
    2. Health Mate could synchronize the step number to Google Fit, but please do this continiously and not only once a day otherwise 3rd party reminders for activity goals will not work properly

    I got it to work.

    Solution:

    English:

To get the step export feature to work, one has to disable step recording (activity tracking) in Google Fit and deactivate the step import in Health Mate.

    Deutsch:

Damit der export der von Health Mate aufgezeichneten zu Google Fit funktioniert, ist es notwendig in Google Fit Acktivitätstracking zu deaktivieren und in Health Mate den import von Schritten zu deaktivieren.

Since this issue was troubling me quite much I send an e-mail to the support and got an reply within 24 h. This is awesome! (though they don't seam to read the forum)

Although their suggestion of deactivating and re-activating the sync was already tried before, it got me to experiment with all possible scenarios and I figured out by accident that it suddenly started working when Google Fit is not configured to record any activities on its own. But I think this alone is not enough since this was my initial configuration, but instead one has to deactivate any step import in Health Mate. Before I had import from Samsung Health enabled and this may have been part of the problem.

While experimenting I took some other steps which are probably unrelated

    • re-installed Google Fit and Health Mate
    • disabled WiFi and mobile internet
    • created a new user profile for my health records
    • reset my Seel HR
    • uninstalled Samsung Health

This is still an issue...... over the summer my steps from Google were finally correct.  Then in the last 2 months they have never been right.  Google says yesterday I did 6612 steps and Healthmate reports 1574
