    Hello Everyone,

While a factory reset will cause loss of data stored on the watch, a reboot of pressing the button for 15 seconds will not. However, having to reset frequently is not expected behavior so I would encourage you to reach out to our support using the link below:

    https://within.gs

Also please note any data that has synced over to your Health Mate account will not be affected by a factory reset.

Thats strange. Ive got a sport and my partner has an hr. They both sync perfectly. Do you close the app after using it? Sometimes if you leave the app open, it not only hinders communication but can also slow down your phone. By closing the app I mean tapping the square icon at the bottom of your screen and swiping running apps to close them.

Sounds like you're lucky. I always close the app in the way you describe. I've been on to support a couple of times and they say it's usual for the watch to require occasional factory resets. It wouldn't be such a big deal if they had an option to reboot without losing data.

Hey! I found you can also reboot the watch by pressing the button for 15 seconds. Also if your having to frequently reset your watch I would say to reach out their support, that is not normal for their products.

Thanks Maroon. As I explain in the opening post, I know how to reboot the watch. The problem is that rebooting erases data stored on the watch. Withings support says it's a common issue.

Given that it is a common issue, Withings should offer a way to restart without losing data.

I REPEAT. TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE ON ANDROID, PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOU CLOSE THE APP AFTER USE BY SWIPING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN. THIS PREVENTS THE ISSUE AND IT ALSO MAKES YOUR PHONE RUN FASTER!

ALSO, TO CORRECT SYNC ERRORS, BERFORE REBOOTING, TRY SETTING AN ALARM ON THE APP. THAT WILL FORCE THE APP TO SYNC WITH YOUR WATCH.

No need to shout. Like I said: it's acknowledged by Withings as a known issue, your solution doesn't always work.

Withings can acknowlede a thousand times, but they will never solve the very frustrating problem of connection losses. The Steel HR and Healt Mate app are worthless, but they will never admit. The wacht is paired with bluetooth, but cannot be found by the app. This problem is years old, so the solution will never come. IT IS A SHAME.
