That would have negative effect on battery life.

Not sure if it's worth it.

Thanks for the input, I'm asking for a choice not a mandatory implementation, one thing I prefer with withings is they like choice in their software so I'm hoping it's something that can be added if the user wishes.

Sorry - from my previous experience - Withings didn't use to provide much choice with the original software/firmware of Steel HR in 2016.

I'm still learning to live with the new reality of having options and I do appreciate it very much. Just takes some time to change the thinking pattern :)

Of course it would be a nice option to have.

Yep! It's just a request that's all.  Mainly for in the middle of the night as the face is hard to see.  It could be added between certain hours. :)

Just sharing my experience coming from Fitbit Blaze:

The Blaze screen is off by default so to see anything you have to either move wrist or touch button.
So I had enabled the wrist twist to activate display for daytime.

But for sleeping I always turned that feature off because the display was quite bright even at the lowest setting and that light was disturbing for me and my wife - when I accidentally twisted my wrist during sleep and activated the display un-intentionally - it was quite unpleasant in a dark room.

The display on Steel HR is much smaller and would not produce that much "light pollution" I guess.

This would be super useful.  2 seconds would likely be enough, make it a setting, 1 - 5 seconds, as at night, you cannot read the watch at all.
