I'm doing jump rope for my cross-fit workout and I think it will be great if they will add this activity in the future. I called Withings last month about this and they told me that they will pass my request to their developers to add a jump rope as an activity in the app.

I jump rope too, but I don’t think some of their devices can measure up and down motion.

What is the closest activity to use in the meantime (before it is added)?

Also waiting jumproping or skipping to be added into the activities! Have been using Other but this really bothers me - i dont want to count it as other!
There is also not HIIT (hight intensity interval training) what i would use instead.

Yeah, would be great to have more activities added, no interval training, no HIIT, no jump rope... The list could go on!
Adding to the bad sleep detection algo, the Scanwatch is my first and will be my last Withings tracker.

I jump rope too. Please add or recommend alternative activity to use. Thanks

I just started jumping rope using the Crossrope app which has some great beginner workouts. I have an older version of the Steel Hr and I have been setting my activity recorded to Other. I am wondering how everyone is tracking their workouts and if there is something that would be closer.

i am considering purchase of scan watch, but absence of jump rope tracking is really putting me off, it is one of my main cardio exercises!!

+1 (aka. “skipping” in some countries)

Adding jump rope would be awesome…gotta believe it would be used more than kite surfing. 😎

I totally agree! This would be great.
If you're looking for a quick and dirty work-around, you can calibrate to know how many steps is equal to a jump. For me, it's just under 2 steps per jump (1.8). So I know that If my steps go up by 180 from the time I started jumping, then I've jumped 100 times.

Adding support for this and Crossrope integration.

Adding support to this subject. I have a $35 dollar tracker which has jump rope activity as a workout selection. I know its not 100% accurate but it helps to know. Thanks.
