Take a look at this forum thread:

Leave the watch off the charge to let the battery drain (~24 hours) then stick it back on charge and it should revive itself.

Mine too!  It stopped at 10:50 CT with about 92% battery life.  Makes me very sad as I really rely on my Withings HR Steel.

Mine stopped at 12:50 EST with 62% battery left.  Same, makes me very sad and I miss it already.  Hope leaving it off the charger works and it reset soon!

Many thanks to henrythewasp for providing the info on the forum thread “steel HR died suddenly”.  I left my Steel HR alone overnight, perhaps draining the battery.  Cleaned the back side with a soft cloth, mild and soapy water, cloth dried the back.  Then pressed the side button for about 15 seconds.  I saw a “power reserve” message display on the screen.  I attached my Steel HR to the recharger and it’s recharging.  Yesterday, I had nothing showing up on the Steel HR screen when I attempted to press the side button or when I attempted a recharge.  There’s hope that my watch will revive!

Steel stopped after being charged. Followed instructions on the forum and watch is now working again. Withings support seem unaware of the problem affecting many owners of the watch. Thanks to those who worked out the problem for them.
