Well, no details required as it seems many, many others are having this same issue. My Steel HR just died on my wrist this morning. Thanks to all for posting the solution. I'l give it a shot and see what happens. Looks like there's no reason to contact Support as they seem unknowledgable about the problem, based on all of your comments. I just wanted to add my watch's failure in here, on the off chance that Withings engineers will pay attention... Hey, it could happen!

Are you still having issues with your Steel HR? I suggest that you may still contact the support so that they will be aware of this concern you have about your watch and we cannot also tell whether your concern is the same with the others. I do have a Steel HR but upon contacting the support, they were able to resolve the issue I am having. You can contact them at https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

My HR did the same thing. Support said to charge it for 2 hours the hold the button down for 6 seconds - nope nothing happened. It won’t sync or be detected by my iPhone. My guess it will have to sent back so engineers can open it and find the defected part. In the meantime no watch for me.

Sorry I didn't come back here sooner with the rest of my story. (I'm the OP.) But, the solution elsewhere on these forums did work for me. That is, I let the watch battery completely die, 0%. I then charged it back to 100%. Hey, presto chango, it worked! All is well ever since then (one month).

I'm in the same position as previous customers. My 5 month old Steel HR died this morning for no perceptible reason. Have contacted the support team and await their response. In the meantime the watch is on the charger showing 'Power reserve', not really what I paid for when I wanted a device to help me with my fitness.
