I got the Nokia HR steel fitness smart watch for my father.
The stepcounting is way off. After walking for 1.5 hours it measures approximately 2000 steps and 1.9 kms. A cheap stepcounter in the pocket measured approximately 11.000 steps for the same workout, which is far closer to reality.
When having comparable data he can see that at best it measures 40-50% of the actual steps/distance.
Is there any way to calibrate the device or finetune the algorithms?
The actual timepiece is very nice and the HR monitor pretty accurate, but as he is a heart patient, the motivation from the stepcounting does mean something too.
