I've been looking for a smartwatch for a while now, and personally I love the design and the longevity of the the battery on the HR Sport watch. There are two things I do miss and that have kept me from putting down my money and buy one.(Q #1 + Q#3)
1: In the early days of Withings there was a model called pulse I think that also did O2 monitoring. That is a feature I would love to see on today's Sport HR. Because I suffer from sleep apnea so in addition to track things while working out, I would love to also keep an eye on the sleep cycles (works already with HR Sport) but also monitoring the o2 in the blood as if I monitor o2 during sleep I might be able to park the sleep apnea machine for good.
2: Spotify. I settle for offline modus. This is not as much a must have feature, more of a luxury nice to have feature that I think there will be a wide audience that will like too. And that is the ability to stream music from the Sport HR directly via bluetooth while working out. No need to lug a big heavy smart phone into the gym or while running. I would happily use the "off line modus" on spotify for this. So should be an easy task for your software engineers to implement and release as a firmware update.
One could download a playlist from spotify down to the watch while connected to smartphone and have the whole playlist available to stream via bluetooth while working out.
3: I noticed you got a new model that monitors ECG, which is very very nice feature. That would be perfect for Sport HR - at least for those of us that are middle aged.
4: Is there any add-ons either form Withings or third party that can work well with your health app and sport hr watch that might let me monitor o2 levels, and that can keep monitoring heart regularity ECG style? Primarily I would prefer to log ECG 24/7 because I am in that age now where the heart might give in at any time. And a ticker "out of time" can be really hard to spot while at check up. But monitoring this data long term sure will pick anything note worthy and treatment can take place as early as possible.
For O2 monitoring I can settle for ie a ( preferable wireless) finger clip on add-on that can work for me during the night to record o2 levels to ensure I don't dip below a certain baseline. The o2 measuring device could even be a 3rd party device. As long as it can work in the Withing ecosystem and work with the health app, which I am very found of as I got a withings scale.
Would it then be possible to introduce spotify offline support as a firmware update for the Sport HR line ,or if not would it be possible to "hack it" in one way or another to use spotify offline?
5: Would it be possible to introduce a premium model of the HR sport that features all these things? I realize as I write this lines that you already did a new version of HR sport, the signature edition. What if you did yet another called signature + xxl monitoring? Hey you can even take that name as well :D
