The Smart Body Analyzer has an approximate autonomy of 8 months using four standard AAA batteries. I hope this helps.

Mine used to be like that, then a few months ago it suddently started draining the batteries within a week. I see others are having this issue as well.

I used Energizer lithium AAA batteries.  The scale was setup for bluetooth.  I used it may be once a month and the batteries lasted only 11 months.  That's sad.  The hourly CO2 reading this scale does in the background has got to be a power drain.

Many people report that the battery only lasts from a few hours to a few days. I suspect that the battery drain is caused by a bad firmware update, but Withings won't fix it. There are several other threads about this same issue, but Withings just marks it 'answered' and tells users to buy a new scale. See if they tell you the same.

I performed the factory reset ( someone posted that customer service told them to do it , in another thread). This is the instructions I found(https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1203499/Withings-Ws-50.html#page=55 ) . Getting the reset to start by pressing two buttons in the back took several tries.
