Indicator of charging

I received my BPM Connect device last night and proceeded to plug it in with the provided Micro-USB cable. Upon waking up this morning it still says that the battery is drained and I have no indication it charged. I downloaded the user manual and see it only says it takes 3 hours to charge... I swapped the cables to one I know works and still no indication it's charging. Here's my question:  How do you know the device is charging?

    Same exact issue. Only 2 weeks old too. I got a support ticket in- so we'll see.

    OK. So out of desperation I held the button down for maybe 30 seconds. Seemed to reset the device. Appears to be working normally now. . .

    I have ordered mine and waiting for it now. In case you are still having difficulty, I think it is best to contact the support team at https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/requests/new so they can look into it.

    Mine did not seem to recharge either and now the slow blinking orange light will not go off even after unplugging or pressing and holding button!

    how long does it take to fully charge the battery on the steel?
