    Dear Community,

Thank you very much for all your posts.

Please know that if your WBS01 scale shows error 000995, it means that it is unable to connect to your Wi-Fi router. This often occurs when you have made a change to your Wi-Fi network.

To resolve the issue, you will need to reconfigure the scale. Please be aware that the WBS01 does not support Bluetooth. It must be reconfigured on a PC or Mac (not on a mobile device).

This article here will explain to you how to update the Wi-Fi configuration of your scale step-by-step.

During the process, you will need to use the Pairing Wizard software and a standard mini-USB cable. A link to download the Pairing Wizard software can be found when following the configuration instructions for the scale. If you no longer have the mini-USB cable which was included with the scale, you can buy one at a computer electronic store.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to email us by clicking here.

    Enjoy your scale!

You can try the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/articles/216796117 which explains how to resolve this 000995 error so that your scale will begin to sync your measurements once again. As I also had a Wi-Fi Body scale before, this scale can only be installed using a computer and a mini-USB cable. Hope this helps.

Zane, thanks. The scale is actually my dad’s and he only uses iPads and an iPhone so the method of resetting won’t work for him. I’ll take the scale home with me and see if I can get it to work on one of my computers. No need to spend another $100 or more on the scale. I’d have thought Withings would be smarter than this, but it’s the same company that uses small type and brown paper for a user guide for the blood pressure monitor — when many people who use these products are elderly and have degrading eyesight. Wake up, designers and engineers!

I tried the help articles. None of them worked. I'm a network & systems admin - I've connected tens of thousands of things to wifi networks, i've done firmware updates, configured using USB cable - this scale doesn't work anymore - it measures my weight - it just won't connect to my WiFi. I have Google Wifi - 3 of them for a killer mesh network - signal strength isn't the issue.

The help docs are anemic. Great for basic issues, not good for issues like this.

Thom, You are right. I ended up taking the scale home, finding the right cable, downloading the correct setup app, connected to laptop and managed to connect scale to my WiFi network, not without its difficulty. When I got to dad’s house and a different network, I couldn’t just connect o a different network and add a new password. Had to go through the entire setup process again, and even then STILL had to connect to withings via the website on a computer (not phone or tablet) to get it all to work — just short of standing on one foot and wearing a pointy hat made of tinfoil.

    Dan,

Out of frustration, I just kept running the pairing wizard exactly as instructed by the help articles. Over & over again. I'd do it, it'd list WiFi networks, I'd select mine and enter the preshared key (the app calls it a "password")  and do the next step. Over and over again it'd fail.

After the second time, I got tired of re-entering my "password" so I typed it out and copied to the clipboard for easy ctrl+v entry.

Fail fail fail fail and then - "holy shit - it connected"

Like, just, randomly. Nothing changed, it just decided to work.

Despite my complaining - I've got to admit - having had this scale for almost 10 yrs - I doubt any of my other IoT devices will be supported and working after 10yrs.

I still don't know how this device gets a firmware update. Couldn't find that info. And the body fat detection quit working a few years ago.- still - not a bad piece of hardware.

Ok, I got mine to work. It was bought several years ago and it kept reading 000995. I had to hook it up to my laptop (there is a port for a cord where the batteries are). Once attached to my laptop, I went to the withings (HealthMate) website, logged in to my account and then clicked on the scale in my “devices”. I then followed the instructions for installing a device (or changing the wireless network). Do this while the scale is connected. It is now connected to my apps and once again records body fat measurements. Good luck!

It could mean your WIFI has been changed since you last used it.

Plug the USB lead into laptop or PC and then update WIFI.

You can then pair your device

I used to love WiThings, but this support is horrible.

Following the instructions on this page (the same ones linked above by Withings Customer Service) leads to a dead end, because the links to the pairing wizard software are broken.

I've posted the direct download links below, but as you will see if you click on them, nothing happens.

If it works for any of you, could you report back? I have tried from multiple computers, across different networks, nothing...
