I have the exact same problem… :'( And now, I can't update the Wi-Fi settings of my weight scale, so it doesn't even sync anymore. That's a shame. Please Withings, do something: my scale isn't a connected scale anymore :'(

This just happened to me as well. Any resolution on the issue?

    > Any resolution on the issue?

Nope, it's still broken for me.

I've had to borrow another Android device to unbrick my scale and I'm now forced to use healthmate.withings.com on my computer. That's much less convenient and definitely not something I envisioned when I bought a “connected” Withings product.

I'm very sorry you got the same issue. I'm actively discouraging people from buying Withings products for this reason. Spending 130 € on a scale which ends up being unusable after only four years is not acceptable.

I have a similar issue. I´ve just installed the app on Android 9 introduced login and password and got the message " Ooops. There seems to be a connectivity issue. Please try later". The installation freezes.

    Can somebody help please ?

Have any of you resolved the connectivity issue? New steel hr for Christmas and now won't let me login with this same connectivity issue.

I started running into this "connectivity issue" 3 days ago. I've done all the troubleshooting steps with Withings, nothing worked. They said that the technical support team was already aware of this issue and "IF" they find a solution, they'll let me know. Well, given that some of you have had this problem for months, I'm demanding my money back because it won't even tell time without the app connection. BTW, I loaded the app on my husband's iPhone and it works fine, it's just the Androids that are having issues. This is unacceptable.

Started having the same issue with my Steel HR yesterday, I'm on. Android 9. It was working fine up until then. Tried all the steps, including reinstalled the app and reset the watch - nothing.

Although I love the beautiful sleek design of Withings, I'm thinking of finally switching to Garmin :(

I think the key here is to make sure everyone with this issue is contacting Withings about this. It's Android specific, which is also their main customer base. Apple owners are loyal to their brand and most of them are rocking the Apple watch, not the smartwatch deep cuts. So why would they not fix a critical issue on their product for their main consumer base? ESPECIALLY since they just released a new watch less than a month ago when no one can actually use their products.

    I figured it out.

Try creating a new account on the app after factory resetting your watch. Go through the setup from step one like it's brand new. I used a different email address, ran through the prompts and it works. To test my theory, I logged out of the new account and tried logging in with my old one, and the old account still does the connectivity issue thing.

Unfortunately, customer service is closed today. I don't want to lose all my information from months of activity, but it is nice to know that there is hope and a work around. Withings needs to focus on the accounts which seem to be broken rather than the app itself.

Hope this helps some of you.

I had the very same problem yesterday. I manually installed an older version of the app by an apk file and now it works. Hopefully it will continue working when the playstore app is updated and I reinstall from playstore.

@Oliver - which version did you go for? I just tried 4.6.0 instead of the current 4.6.1 but it gave me the same issue. Don't really want to resort to the one before that since it doesn't have the Strava integration

    It was 4.4.0.
I just found out that if I update to the current version using playstore from there (after successfully logging in) playstore updates to current and I'm still logged in. I seem to have issues with the synchronization though after that.

OK, I managed to fix it!
I disassociated the watch from my account (through the Web health mate).
I installed an old APK of version 4.5.4 (doesn't have Strava integration). That let me log in to my account. After that I updated the app through the Play Store to the current version (it loaded the Strava integration and it was already linked, but the Google Fit one I had to re-enable the export toggles again since they had all reset).
Then I factory reset my watch and re-linked it to the app. It now all works, although I had to redo all the customisations of settings and watch screen options. And I now have the Strava watch screen option, which I didn't have before, even though I supposedly had the latest app version which should have had it!

Hope this workaround works for you guys too! Not ideal obviously but at least it's all back again and under my current account, with minimal loss of stats (just the last 2 days) .

Glad you found a fix, but that's an awful lot of work to fix Withings' mistakes.

That worked for me too, thank you

however when i updated the app again from google store, i stay logged in but connectivity issues continue and it keeps disconnecting the watch and phone so can't track any workouts or anything.

lost the strava synch option as well which is a bummer and the only reason i didn't get a new watch 2 months ago....

    I have a similar problem.

My phone is a Huawei Y550 with Android 4.4.4. and Heallth Mate 3.5.4 and an Withings Activie Pop.   These two communicated well until a few months ago    The Activite Pop has ceased to communicate with the phone.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times always with the same result 'An internet connection is necessary, please activate your data or try later'.   I have been in contact with the Client Support through about 40 to 50 emails and they have pleaded ignorance to this problem or written that an update to repair the problem is due.   Now I see on this forum that this is a known problem.   I received the watch in January 2019 as a replacement for my original which I purchased and received on 19-7-2018.   Withings give a warranty of 2 years yet today I have received an email stating 'We can not replace the watch since we do not see any hardware issues'.   The problem is that Withings have updated the app which has caused the Bluetooth communication between the phone and watch to be disfunctional.   I want a replacement or, if that is not possible, for Withings to repay what I paid for the Activite Pop.

I tried all different older versions, all the way down to 4.3.3, none of them seem to work.

Contacting the support, Instagram or Facebook makes no difference as they are not in a rush to fix this for the people here. I got a reply once I opened my ticket about my weight being measured twice to reinstall the app, after that, no more response... Their support is a total joke.
To fix it, you have to somehow install an older version of their software? Insane, and we are paying big time for their watches.

Hopefully they will come back shortly since I'm trying to get in contact with them in every possible way.

Read between the lines. They're no longer fixing bugs. They're run out of money and if you buy one of their products you've little chance of receiving any support for the problems that come with it.

I lost my app on the phone about a month ago. I factory reset my watch so it no longer shows the correct time.

I've reinstalled the app but the app on the phone won't connect with the internet to download the software to control the watch.

There's no connection with the internet or the watch and so the watch shows the correct time twice daily.

I can't get Health Mate app to login or connect to my scale. It worked fine until about November 2019. Health Mate app hasn't worked for me since then.

I recently changed Internet providers and now the scale won't connect to the net. Without the Health Mate app working I can't get the scale to connect.

I removed and re-installed the app. Changed batteries in the scale. Updated my password on the website. Nothing helps. It just doesn't work anymore.

This makes the money spent on the scale worthless. Without the app connection and web data upload the scale is no more useful than any much cheaper scale.
