    I have the exact same issue. Bricked by an update, now factory reset loop.

    This solution works 100 percent. Charge the device for about three hours as the battery must be totally drained. Disassociate the product from app and remove from Bluetooth under devices.

    Press the button on the side of the scale for 15 seconds until the display turns to hello , keep the button pressed on  the scale until the factory reset gauge fills. The scale's screen will display the word "Factory", confirming the reset. At this time, you can start the installation process for the Withings Body Cardio.

    I am doing just that. But the scale is still endlessly looping “factory reset”

    The gauge should reach the end else it is not reset. Better way is just press till you get the word "factory" . If this is not done then its stay exactly the way it is. This process is to remove the bad code in the device. This is the only method available and is 100 percent working solution.

    You should try resetting the scale. You can do this by pressing and holding the button on the side of the scale for a full 20 seconds. I hope it will do the trick. =)

    above solution did not work for me, Held button repeatedly for 20 seconds or linger. Nothing. Charged for two days and tried again but still same thing. No response from Withings support.

    Check if any of the 3 contacts in the 3 circular holes have turned green

    If so then water has damaged the programming pins

    This must be a known design flaw since the new '2016' Body Cardio scale has a plastic insert that covers these holes to prevent water getting to the contacts.

    Thanks for the update Guy, seems the scales featuring that design are just a fault waiting to happen. Im waiting for Withings support to get back to me looks like Ill have to shell out for another unit. I doubt that will be one from Withings though :(

    This is the design update - the pins are now covered.

    They should be alerting existing users and at least offering a way to cover up the contacts like a sticker or other fix.

    I don’t know what is going on but since December 2019 my body cardio scales goes into factory reset loop and after at least ten attempts to reset I am fed up. It happens time and time again. There is a serious problem with my scales which are not that old and attempts to get the company to sort it are useless. I am out, loved Withings from the start but fed up with technical issues over time

    Here the exact same issue. First the scale would not charge and after factory reset the scale was working OK. However after one week, the scale is looped in the factory reset mode. No way to get out of this loop.

    withings support: is there any solution or can you offer a replacedment scale at a reduced price?
