Dear Community,
If you receive the errors 301 and/or 303, please make sure that, when taking a measurement:
1) Your arm circumference is between 9 and 17 inches (22 to 42 cm).
2) You rest seated for 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
3) The cuff is placed on your left arm with its bottom 1 inch above the elbow (your elbow should be able to bend) and at heart level.
4) The cuff is worn comfortably tight, with the entire cuff being in direct contact with the skin (no gaps).
5) The tube faces the inside portion of your arm and the button faces down.
6) Your arm and the cuff don’t touch any other part of your body.
7) Your feet are flat on the floor and your arms are resting on a table. You should also not speak or move.
8) There is no lint or debris. If there are, please remove them from the velcro to ensure that it is clean.
This article here will give you more information on how to proceed.
If the situation persists despite following all those steps, please contact us via https://within.gs/help. We will need a video of you with your arm, the blood pressure monitor and the cuff visible in the video. The audio should also be enabled so that the pump can be heard.
Have a nice weekend,

Based on the article I found from their Help Center, if you receive an error 301, it means that the BPM Connect is not inflating correctly while error 303 means that the Monitor failed to start a measurement. Make sure to follow the guidelines outlined in this article https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024481313.

Thanks for your comment. I did see this was the help link offered but it is just the standard ‘how to’ use document, not a trouble shooting article for these errors.

I am receiving the Error 301 on my Withings BPM Connect -- it is new and never inflated -- not even once. What is wrong with the device. I am following the guidelines explicitly. Suggestions?

Same issue. Error 301. Read all the info. Followed all the instructions. It's not making any sound at all which I assume means that it's not even trying to inflate. Sending back.

If that is the case, it will be better to get help from the support team using this link https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Same here. Called support and they asked me to try someone else's arm. I told them that it wont make a difference if I tested it on a huge Salami. Sent it back to Amazon - for a replacement but I feel it will also be faulty.

The replacement that I got from Amazon worked just fine. What they don't mention in any of the support information is that you should hear the pump running to inflate the cuff. If you don't hear the pump running then you can adjust it any way you want and it's not going to work. Please don't waste my time running me through troubleshooting steps that are not going to solve the problem.
Now that it's working I'm happy with it. But based on the number of posts I see about this error you have a problem with units being DOA.

I hear the pump the cuff starts to inflate then it shuts off and deflates with a whimper. Then the error flashes up. Hopeless

Same. This device is utterly useless

Yeah, just got the BPM Connect and getting Error 301 straight away... Definitely not a great user experience...

After using the device for some days I suddenly get the error code 303. I have tried and tried to do new measurements, but only gets error 303.
I have followed the guidelines to make a factory reset, but the problem doesn't go away. I made several factory reset and reconnected the BPM Connect again and again. But error 303 keeps coming back. Note that it has worked for many measurements before.
