I can relate to your frustration! I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading to iOS 26 on my iPhone 14. I have spent hours resetting everything, Bluetooth, Withings app, router, scale, and it all fails. Since it was reset to factory settings, as one of the steps, you cannot force a software or firmware update on the scale. I don't have an old iPhone to try using the older version. So, I am at a loss and very frustrated. I agree with you, scale is now trash. The scale should have another way of connecting to wifi or have a physical port to connect for a software or firmware update if you have done everything they suggest to fix, and you have no way to connect the scale to the internet.

I'm feeling really frustrated with the same situation repeating. Can someone finally provide a solution?

Same issue after the battery died. How is it realistic to expect customers to have a spare old phone available in order to fix YOUR compatibility problem?

Unfortunately, Kaye, this has to do with the Type of Phone. I went through the same steps, also select 2.4GHz Wifi on my Iphone 15, as well as 17. The connection and setup works with the 15, but not with the 17. I also reported this to your support, but I am trapped in a loop of meaningless conversation without help. I guess you have to fix this in firmware or even in the Withings App. Anyway, bad Customer experience.

I have had the iPhone 17 since the day it was released but yesterday my scale disconnected from my phone and I can’t reconnect. I get an error message saying that my phone isn’t compatible. I couldn’t get through to a person with customer service chat. It’s ridiculous. Please address this problem. Is it with the app??

Solution: You need an iPad to connect the scale to your Withings account. Once this happens, your IPhone 16 (which is what I have) should see the scale and full functionality restored. This should also work with iPhone 17.

Get an IPad (I used my IPad Pro) and download the Withings app there (the latest version, 8.0.1 at the time of writing). Go thru the installation process and when asked for a QR code, hit the next button. After some seconds, the installation will default to Blutooth and the process will continue to proceed and complete. I validated this as working by also opening the Withings app on my iPhone 16 and seeing the scale. I stepped on the scale and validated it is syncing the data to my account and I can see it on both my iPad and iPhone 16.

Failed Bonus: I tried to check if there were any firmware updates by going to “Check Updates” within the settings section but it seemed that took me to the same installation window.

WITHINGS: Please allow firmware updates to be performed via the app and Wi-Fi/bluetooth connection.

This worked for me and I hope you all find this solution to work.

This problem still persists for those of us without an extra iOS device to use, even after the app update. Can someone from Withings please provide a pathway to resolution here?

I've had an iPhone 17 since yesterday and I'm having the same problem with my Withings Body Cardio scale. I've connected the scale to an old iPad for now, but that can't be the permanent solution.

    I’m having the same problem:

Body cardio can’t pair with iPhone 16 pro

Followed the prompt to try an older device (which is, frankly, ridiculous)

Body cardio can pair with my partner’s iPhone 15 pro… But there’s no firmware update to download and fix the problem.

I’ve been through all the troubleshooting and resetting. Clearly Withings needs to do some work and release a patch that fixes this problem. Otherwise they should refund us.

I’ve also been onto the customer support via chat and even linked this thread.

Same problem as those above, I expect not to be heard, and nothing to be done, just to be left hanging

Latest firmware 2231 is quite old already,

I have the issue since I moved and my wifi changed, I cannot re-add it  to my iphone 16. Tried on a friend's iphone 14 with same OS level, and it worked.

Somehow, it seems there is something in the cache app or user account that cannot initiate the bluetooth pairing even though the iphone 16 sees a scale being close.

This calls for a new firmware, please Withings.

Tried it with my iPad, the Withings app crashes the second I touch the area where I’m supposed to put in the code I’m given. So tiresome. Oh AND, my husband’s iPhone Sir connects with no issue, my iPhone 17 Pro Max won’t connect, yet apparently both phones use the same Bluetooth protocols.

Same as all the above. Really nice scale when it worked. It was working fine, but one fine morning the scale required  a reset. The reset process took days to figure out: take a battery out, hold the reset button in while you put the battery back in. I finally got it sorted out. Now the connection process fails when the progress circle reaches the 10 o'clock position. This is on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 26.1.

Same Problem here as well. The scale became a trash, only showing the SETUP screen. No support at all from them. The worst customer experience ever.

I installed the Withings application on my Android phone and it paired successfully, after that the thermo is visible on other phones

I was running v8.2 of the Withings on my iPhone 17 Pro Max (on iOS 26.1). The Withins app simply would not connect to the scale via BlueTooth.

I was able to succeed using an older iPad Pro (10.5 inch) from 2017 or 2018, which was running on iOS 17.7.1, and using v8.2 of the Withings app. This iPad had absolutely no problem connecting to the scale via BlueTooth. The app quickly connected to the scale and then asked me to connect to wifi.

I did run into some problems getting it to connect to wifi, but I got past this by changing the security protocol from WPA2 to WPA3 and then back to WPA2 (from my understanding, the scale needs your wifi to be on WPA2). It's possible that simply restarting my router would have had the same effect.

After the scale connected to the Withings app on the iPad (I was logged in to my Withings account) the scale then automatically appeared in the Withings app on my iPhone.

Iphone 16 pro won't connect to scale after battery change. Old iPhone 13 max did. Should I now keep this old iPhone forever, withings? and what if the app is too old to be update on the old iPhone, should I trash the scale...

extremely bad support, trash scale now, only after our money

I’m having the same issue. Body + Scale. iPhone 17 Pro Max. Scale was working great until 11 days ago then lost sync.

I’ve gone through the steps everyone else has. Restarting phone, restarting Bluetooth, factory resetting the scale, then completely removing the scale from the app and phones Bluetooth settings. Making sure I’m on the 2.4 WiFi. Nothing works. What’s worse is nothing has changed over several months. It was working beautifully then it just dropped sync and won’t come back. Now it’s a piece of trash paper weight.

When you put the scale in pairing and it says start app, the app sees the scale immediately and gives you the option to connect. However once it starts it goes to Potential Compatibility Issues and won’t continue the setup. Even the app is frustrating now trying to get the scale to generate a QR code. This model has never done that before. So expecting it to fail and fallback to Bluetooth for the connection, really? You relying on a failure to continue setup? They should have properly set the software to split the installation types for that on the initial start.

Expecting your customer base to have older back up devices to do the setup again when we live in an age where devices are traded, upgraded, or plain gotten rid of so commonly is POOR customer service and really shows how much this company doesn’t care about their clientele and lacks proper quality testing of their software and firmware and customer care. Really disappointed in the direction this company has gone after trading hands so many times.

Will have to find another brand that actually services their customers properly.
