    Hello @Chris B,

Thanks for your query. Body Scan does not directly display Skeletal Muscle Mass or Subcutaneous Fat as separate metrics. However, it provides the following related measurements in the Withings app:

    • Muscle Mass – This represents the total muscle weight in your body, including skeletal muscles.
    • Visceral Fat – This measures the fat stored around your internal organs.
    • Fat Mass Percentage – This reflects your overall body fat, which includes both subcutaneous and visceral fat.

So while subcutaneous fat isn’t shown separately, it’s included in your total fat mass, and skeletal muscle is part of your overall muscle mass measurement.

    I hope this helps,

    How is visceral fat calculated?
Is it calculated using a formula? Is it based on body fat, age, height, and so on?

    Hello @Alexander M,

Thanks for your comment. Indeed, the Visceral Fat measurement on the Withings Body Scan is calculated using a combination of multi-frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology and proprietary, trained algorithms that analyze the data collected along with a user's personal information (age, sex, height, weight).

    Have a good day,
