Hello @Lynda S,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with the charging issues on your ScanWatch 2. I sincerely apologize that you are dreading the charging process due to long charging times, sometimes reducing charge, and the general unreliability—especially since you otherwise love the watch. It is indeed disheartening when a known issue prevents you from using a device you rely on, and I understand your concern, especially given your current circumstances.
You are correct that these charging issues, particularly the erratic behavior (appearing to charge but losing power), are regrettably not uncommon and can often be related to the connection points or the cable itself. Since you've already tried troubleshooting and cannot currently replace the charger, here is a focused step-by-step process that often resolves these specific intermittent charging issues by improving the physical connection:
Inspect the charger pins:
Look closely at the two gold pins on your ScanWatch 2 charging dock. They must be clean, dry, and fully spring-loaded (not stuck down).
Gently clean the pins with a dry cotton swab to remove any invisible debris or residue.
Clean the watch's charging ring:
The watch's charging contacts are the two small, metallic rings on the back of the case.
Use a slightly damp (not soaking wet) cloth or an alcohol swab to thoroughly clean these rings. Ensure they are dry before attempting to charge again.
Check the USB connection:
Ensure the USB end of the charger is plugged into a reliable power source, such as a wall adapter (not a computer port), and that the adapter itself is functioning correctly.
We are actively aware of the impact these charging issues have on our users. While cleaning is the immediate first step, if the problem persists, it often indicates a deeper issue that requires investigation. Given that you cannot currently purchase a new charger, we strongly recommend you reach out directly to our dedicated support team. We can often provide assistance that goes beyond simple troubleshooting, especially for known issues affecting the core functionality of your watch.
Please contact us via chat at https://bit.ly/3Lg5tPL. Our support team is available Monday to Friday, from 03:00 to 22:00 EST. When reaching out, please be sure to mention all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken (cleaning, etc.) and state the exact behavior (charging symbol moves, but charge is reducing). Sharing the serial number of your ScanWatch 2 will allow our team to quickly review your device's status and options for a resolution.
We hope to get your ScanWatch 2 reliably charging again very soon!

Exact same thing happens here. Unfortunately, those recommended troubleshooting methods do not work (Withings should know that based on feedbacks). Please be serious and fix the issue.

I have EXACTLY the same issue as you describe. I can't tell if the watch is charging or not, and then sometimes the battery level will go down as it's supposedly charging. Also dread having to charge the watch. These are basic issue, please don't fob us off with "clean the pins"

Same problem. Watch from september 2025. Charged fine until about 1 month ago. Charger is stored in a drawer. USB cable works fine. When I put the watch in the charger it says "charging", when I come back 2 hours later, it has lost 1%.
Charging takes about 12 hours, because I have to constantly check if it is working, then "wriggle" the watch in the charger.
I have cleaned the watch, the charger pins, reset the watch.
I'm starting to regret spending so much money. Especially because I bought it for the SpO2 readings and it constantly tells me "inconclusive".

I have given up with my watch. Charging never got resolved. Tried all the trouble shooting. Such a major fault and an a obviously known fault. I can't afford a replacement charger at the moment so just can't use it sadly.
