Like many others, I've spent hours trying to work out why any body composition measurements had stopped working on my Body+ scales. After displaying the weight trend it would just show a flashing 'X' above 'Body %'. Been through every software option imaginable (factory resets, new user accounts etc.) all to no avail.
Had seen posts on here showing broken contacts, but they appeared ok here. Had also read that certain cleaning products could remove the conductive coating from the glass, so without much expectation of a positive result I tried this...

Incredibly body composition worked again immediately, which would appear to prove that I'd managed to remove the conductive coating.
Am pretty annoyed that there isn't a clearer warning regarding this - for example a sticker on the scales themselves. My instructions were thrown out years ago but having found them online I can see a warning there, but how many people check to see what a product made of glass should and shouldn't be cleaned with? Am not ashamed to admit I didn't actually clean them that regularly, as evidenced by the photo.
Currently trying to find out if there's anything I can do to restore the conductivity, something along the lines of a spray coating such as this? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Will update here if I have any joy.
