No, leaving it off the charger does not necessarily work. Mine died suddenly and no amount of attempts to resuscitate it worked. I'm sending it back tomorrow for a warranty replacement.

Actually, mine died after 9 months of use. Complete and total failure. Would not charge up or anything. After 3 hours and 3 people on the support line, Withings finally agreed to replace it. I'm se...
