Issues with notifications

Same here, been having problems with notifications for ages now. Performed factory reset, worked for a couple of hours then same thing happened. It's so incredibly frustrating, these are not cheap products! This watch was a replacement for a faulty one in the first instance, so it's ridiculous that this one is now encountering issues known to Withings, but they fail to do anything. I thought Fitbit was bad with customer service, but this is a whole new level

I’m starting to think this is a firmware problem and not an app problem. Using the old builds available on TestFlight, I rolled all the way back to 7.3.2, which I’m sure is before my notifications stopped working, and the behavior is the same.
Seems more likely that it was related to the latest firmware, if not an iOS change that breaks all versions of the app.

Well now, I've been testing for the whole day and there are no more notification problems with this version 7.5 beta 5 which indicates that the problem was indeed coming from the withings application, perhaps following the iOS 18 update because for me it was fine at that time when it started.

Yes. So far so good with 7.5 beta 5! It’s only been a day, but clearly working much better.

I am having a hard time figuring out how to get an invite to the beta program. Can anyone help?

I also would love to know how to get the beta version or know when the update will be released to all?

Here is the link to get the beta versions on iOS.

They just released a sixte beta, I'll have to test it again.

Even with beta six, the notifications work, still being already the sixth beta, I think the final version will soon be released

Thank you, Martin L, for sharing the link to beta-test the app. I’ve installed version 7.5.0 (7050006, the sixth beta) via TestFlight and used it throughout the day. Notifications worked reliably on my iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.5, paired with ScanWatch 2 firmware 2651. Encouraging results. Here’s hoping the release version follows shortly.

Although notifications are now working, there's still some strange behavior. When I move away from my phone and the watch loses Bluetooth connection, if a notification arrives on the phone during that time, it doesn't appear on the watch, which is normal.
If I move closer, the watch will resume Bluetooth connection with the phone. Several previous versions still notified the notification on the watch, which was convenient because you didn't have to check your phone to see if you had received notifications, since the last notification was forwarded to the watch.
But now, with version 7.5, this is not the case.
However, when the watch resumes connection with the phone, if a new notification arrives (from a different app than the previous one received out of range of the phone), the watch doesn't vibrate, but the screen lights up and only displays the logo of the app linked to the previous notification (the one received during the disconnection).
But subsequent notifications work normally: the watch vibrates and displays notifications as expected.
I managed to reproduce the problem several times. I reported the issue by going through the issue reporting feature when you take a screenshot in the beta version. Once you've taken the screenshot, you have to press "OK" in the top left corner and share the beta evaluation.

It is 25 days ago now since this issue of missing notifications was started in this forum. During almost a month no constructive or helpful assistance from Withings has been done. It is a bloody shame!
Like so many I was terribly frustrated, irritated and above all disappointed in this company Withings. I have had numerous Withings watches, scales, blood pressure monitor and thermometer. Such a bad experience that I decided to solve the important issue of the missing notifications/communication and bought a Huawei Fit4 Pro to try out. What a discovery! So glad I was forced by Withings to take a look at the competition. Thank you Withings for doing such a terribel job!

I'm glad I stumbled upon this topic after commenting in the other one.
I have just installed the Beta trough Testpilot and since 20 minutes at least so far the notifications work.
Just came here to comment and will update, if I notice any other issues with the beta version.

Hello everyone,
As promised I have an update concerning the fix of the notification issue on watches, we are currently in the final phase of preparing a firmware update that will be released starting next week in several batches, adressing the issue. Once again apologies for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience, I will let you know as soon as there is any news.
Thanks and have a nice day,

You can install the final version 7.5 of the withings application in the Apple stores. This already corrects the notification problem.
@Markus you are talking about a firmware deployment for the scanwatch 2 but the light are also concerned.

Hello @Martin L,
This issue concerns ScanWatch 2 & Nova, if you have problems getting notifications on your ScanWatch Light this has a different cause. Please contact us at https://bit.ly/3Lg5tPL so we can have a look at your situation.
Thanks and have a nice day!

@Markus
Thank you for your message, but the notification problem on the scanwatch light has been solved with version 7.5.
I already have an open ticket with support, but it's been three weeks and zero response

My Withings app had an update this morning & notifications are now working

Well done team.
Certainly a massive improvement.

Well, I think that the update that intends to be deployed on watches from the beginning of this week, will also introduce the variability of the heart rate since on their site in the functionality part of the scanwatch 2 watch, there is the article for the variability of the heart rate, which was not the case before.
Maybe that's why they waited so long for notifications, because he knew there was a scheduled update.
Even if the version of the application 7.5 to rework the notifications, much more stable, lies, it still happens that sometimes, the notifications do not reach, and the update he is considering on the watches should correct all this.
Hoping.

You can fix it easy, without a firmware update:
The the notifications seem to be disabled directly from the watch. Press the button on your watch once and then scroll until you get to the settings and then press the button once to select. When the battery level is displayed on the screen, scroll with the button until “Do not disturb” appears. When it displays ON, press the button once to turn it off.

@lukas.himmelgeher No, but that’s just a band-aid — the notification issue is real, and it’s even mentioned in the release notes as something they fixed.
Moreover, the workaround you described doesn’t solve anything, since the watch kept losing connection with the phone.
As for heart rate variability, it’s now properly tracked by the watch. I slept with it last night, and this morning it was correctly displayed in the app.

Hello Markus from Withings,

Is there any update when the new version of the firmware will be rolled out?
I still have issues with notifications (most of them are ok, but from time to time they still do not show up).
Thanks, Peter

Hello @Peter K,
Sorry for replying late, I was out of the office last week. Indeed the new firmware has been released last week and it is currently being rolled out in batches, I do not have the exact planning of the deployment, however all users should receive the firmware update by the end of the month.
Thanks and have a great day!
