Note: With the arrival of the 7.0 update of the Withings App, User Profile management has changed. Due to privacy protection measures, we have changed the way that User Accounts and Profiles are defined and managed.
Withings users are divided into two types:
- Account Holders: The primary adult user (at least 17 years old) whose email is associated with the Withings Account. They can add and remove up to 7 User Profiles within their Account , set up Withings+ subscriptions, and manage the account details.
- User Profiles: Secondary user profiles added by the main Account Holder. These are typically child profiles for users 16 years of age or younger.
Below you'll find steps on how to add and delete user profiles, as well as how to make adult profiles independent.
Making existing Adult Profiles independent
Prior to the Withings App 7.0 update, it was possible to have adult users nested within another adult's Account. If you are an adult user and have your profile nested within another adult's Account, it is strongly recommended to make your profile independent. You will then have a choice on what data to share with another Account. To do this, please follow the instructions in our dedicated article.
Adding your Child's Profile to your Account
Via the Withings App:
- Open the Withings App.
- Go to the Share Tab.
- Scroll down to Children, then tap Set up a child's profile.
- Enter the user data and add an optional image.
- Enter the user's date of birth.
Note: Users may not be older than 16 years of age. - Tap Continue.
- Declare yourself the legal guardian by checking the box, then tap Declare.
Via the Web App:
- Select the Profile icon in the upper right corner.
- Select the plus (+) icon.
- Enter the details of the new profile and click Next.
- A pop-up will ask for the user's consent to create their profile. Click Confirm.
- Enter their height and weight and click Next.
- User will receive a confirmation email to join your account.
- The new user profile will appear in the Withings App and Web App.
Removing a User Profile from your Account
Via the Withings App:
- Go to the Share tab.
- Scroll down to the 'Children' section.
- Select the User Profile you wish to remove.
- Tap the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
- Scroll down and select Delete This User.
Note: Deleting a user profile will also delete their data. - A pop-up will appear asking to confirm the deletion. Tap Yes to confirm.
- The user will be removed from the Withings App and an email will be sent to the account holder's email address with a 7-day link to the user's data for download.
- To archive the user's data, follow these steps:
- In the email, click Save this data if you want to archive the user's data.
- In the next screen, click Start my archive to have another email sent to download the data.
- In the email, click Download your data.
- In the next screen, click Recover your data as a csv file to download the data as a CSV file. - To skip the archive step and instead delete the user without delay, click Permanently delete data now. Otherwise, the user will be removed after 7 days.
- If you changed your mind, click It's a mistake, please reactivate in the email and follow the instructions to cancel the deletion.
Via the Web App:
- Select the Profile icon in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Select the icon for the User Profile you want to delete.
- Scroll down and select Delete.
- Select the user from the list and click Delete.
- An email will be sent to the account holder's email address with a 7-day link to the user's data for download.
- To archive the user's data, follow these steps:
- In the email, click Save this data if you want to archive the user's data.
- In the next screen, click Start my archive to have another email sent to download the data.
- In the email, click Download your data.
