Get more active to help reduce your vascular age

One of the most effective ways to improve vascular health is through exercise. A regular exercise routine has the ability to lower the risk of stroke, slow the progression of peripheral artery disease, and decrease the growth rate of abdominal aortic aneurysms. All of this combined helps to lower your vascular age.

Adding physical activity into your daily schedule helps to lower your Vascular Age, and doing the following can aid in your objective:

  • Start by selecting enjoyable activities
  • Work out with a friend
  • Encourage family members to participate
  • Measure progress through a daily exercise journal or track activity with the Health Mate app, for example
  • For those ages 18 to 64, incorporate up to 150 minutes of exercise a week as recommended by the
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including moderate intensity aerobic activities such as brisk walking and strength training exercises like yoga
  • Talk to your doctor about the right exercise program for you
