Note: With the arrival of the 7.0 update of the Withings App, we have changed the way that User Accounts and Profiles are defined and managed.
Defining Accounts and User Profiles
An Account is for adults (users at least 17 years old), and is linked to the email address and password you enter to log in to the app. The Account Holder is the primary user and can add and delete up to 7 User Profiles. Learn how to manage the user profiles under your account here.
A User Profile is for children (users 16 years of age and younger), and exists under an Account as a secondary user. Learn how to add your child's profile to your Account here.
Learn how to share data between Accounts and User Profiles with the Share tab here.
Making existing Adult Profiles independent
Prior to the Withings App 7.0 update, it was possible to have adult users nested within another adult's Account. If you are an adult user and have your profile nested within another adult's Account, it is strongly recommended to make your profile independent. You will then have a choice on what data to share with another Account. To do this, please follow the instructions in our dedicated article.
A few things to keep in mind about User Profiles and Accounts:
- Some features are only available to the main user/adult of the Account (in-app step tracking, Home tab and Wellness Programs, for example).
- Some of our products can be used by all users of the Account (such as our scales or our blood pressure monitors) while others can be only be used by a single user (such as our activity trackers).
