Body Scan is a powerful tool designed to accurately estimate your heart rate and Vascular Age. It utilizes a sophisticated algorithm engineered to deliver only reliable readings of these crucial biomarkers. However, the accuracy of the measurement can be affected by factors such as the positioning of your feet on the scale, any movement during the measurement, and various physiological parameters.
These factors can sometimes lead to inconclusive results, meaning the algorithm couldn't accurately determine your Vascular Age and heart rate.
To avoid receiving inconclusive results, we recommend following our guidelines closely to achieve the best possible recording.
Avoid Skin-to-Skin Contact:
- Ensure that your arms and legs are not touching each other, or other parts of your body, during the measurement. See the illustration below.
- If needed, wear light clothing to avoid skin-to-skin contact.
Note: Wearing light clothing should have no impact on your weight measurement.
Follow the Guidelines:
To maximize your chances of obtaining accurate body composition results, please follow the detailed guidelines provided below. These instructions will guide you step-by-step on how to position yourself correctly on the scale.
- Check that your scale is clean. Dust or dirt can impede the measurement.
Click here for cleaning instructions. - Step on the scale barefoot, with your feet centered on the glass and in contact with the conductive stripes, as in the illustration below:
- Remain as stable and still as possible throughout the entire process, from the initial weight measurement to when your Vascular Age is displayed.
- Refrain from speaking while you are on the scale.
- If your device faces a wall, it can help not to hold the handle from time to time, and instead to gently lean your hands against the wall for maximum stability.
- Make sure that you are in a quiet room where the temperature is stable (ideally 71.6-73.4°F / 22-23°C).
Additional tips:
- Make sure you take the measurement at the same hour every day, and at least three hours after a meal, drinking coffee or smoking a cigarette.
- It is recommended to weigh yourself after taking a shower, as slightly moist feet can improve the measurement.
- Too many calluses on your feet can alter the measurement.
