At Withings, the security of your personal data is of the utmost importance. As such, we recommend the use of strict password guidelines to ensure the safety of your account.
Your password should respect the following guidelines:
- Contain a minimum of 12 characters
- Use a mix of alphanumeric characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- It may contain special characters (e.g. $ or !), but this is not mandatory
Note: If using Withings services with a HIPPA or HDS-compliant wellness program, the guidelines above are mandatory. Additionally, your password will expire after one year and must be changed.
Tips for creating a strong password
A secure password must be difficult for others to guess, but easy for you to remember. To achieve this, you can consider using a passphrase.
For example, find a short phrase or sentence that is meaningful to you (a quote, a lyric, etc.), and modify it in order to strengthen it for use as a password. You can, for instance, replace one or more of its letters with a symbol. For example:

How to securely manage your passwords
We know that it can be difficult to keep track of several passwords and you may be tempted to reuse the same one for multiple apps or sites. To avoid this, we recommend that you use a password manager such as BitWarden, KeePass, or another to securely manage multiple passwords.
