For most watches, changing the wrist you wear it on won't change anything, but if your Withings watch has an ECG feature active, we recommend you wear it on your non-dominant wrist to get the most accurate recordings.
How to change your wrist choice
If your watch has the ECG feature and you want to change which wrist you're wearing your watch on, it's important to update the setting in your Withings app by following these steps:
- Open the Withings app.
- Tap your devices icon in the top-right corner to open Devices.
- Select your watch (e.g. ScanWatch 2).
- Scroll to 'Health features'.
- Tap ECG.
- Tap Wrist used and select Left wrist or Right wrist.
I don't see the 'wrist used' option
If you don't see an ECG section or a "Wrist used" option under More settings → Health features, your watch model does not have an active ECG feature.
Reinstalling your Watch
If you reinstall your watch you will be given the option to choose which wrist you want to wear your watch on once again.
Will my choice of wrist affect my metrics?
For ECG recordings you want to wear your watch on your non-dominant wrist, but it will not affect any other recording or measurement taken by your watch.
