Your BodyScan 2 offers two measurement modes designed to balance in-depth health insights with a quick daily experience. Some of your most valuable health metrics, such as ECG, Nerve Response Score and other deep cardiovascular signals require a longer measurement. Performing such a complete scan daily can take up more time than a simple weigh-in, so we offer the option of a simpler, lightweight scan for daily use, as well as the full, comprehensive scan once per week.
What are the two modes?
Some of the most valuable health metrics, such as your ECG, Nerve Response Score, and other deep cardiovascular signals require a more thorough measurement. While these deeper scans usually last approximately two minutes, performing such a complete scan every day can make daily weigh-ins feel long.
To give you the best of both worlds, BodyScan 2 automatically alternates between:
- Longevity Scan: a complete, in-depth body assessment performed once a week.
- Daily Scan: a shorter measurement tailored to the metrics you care most about, automatically triggered every other day.
Longevity Scan
What it measures:
The Longevity Scan performs a complete health assessment, including:
- Weight
- Segmental body composition (fat, muscle)
-
Cardiovascular analysis
- 6-lead ECG* with AFib detection, if ECG is available in your country.
- Heart rate, SpO2, Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) and Vascular Age
- Nerve Score (measured via the feet electrodes)
A full Longevity Scan typically takes around 2 minutes, during which you must stand still on the scale and hold the handle with both hands.
*To unlock the ECG portion of the Longevity Scan, you must first complete the ECG tutorial in the Withings app. You can find the guidelines here.
Once the tutorial is completed and the scale is synced, the next Longevity Scan will include the ECG and provide the full experience.
When it happens:
- The Longevity Scan is triggered automatically every 7 days.
- If the weekly Longevity Scan has not been completed, the scale will offer the option on each new measurement.
- Once completed, the scale switches back to Daily Scan for the rest of the week.
How to skip a Longevity Scan
If you are in a hurry, you can skip the Longevity Scan directly from the scale using the right thumb button on the handle. It will then be postponed to your next measurement, and the shorter Daily Scan will run instead.
Daily Scan
What it measures:
Daily Scan is a shorter, customizable measurement focused on the metrics you use most often. Depending on what you select in the app, it includes by default :
- Weight
- Segmental body composition (fat, muscle)
- Heart rate, PWV
A Daily Scan measurement typically lasts 30 seconds, depending on the screens you have enabled.
Customizing your Daily Scan:
You choose what your Daily Scan displays directly from the app. You can find the guidelines here.
The change will take effect after the next weigh-in.
When it happens:
- Daily Scan is triggered automatically every other measurement.
- Daily Scan can be performed muiltiple times a day.
Feature Summary
| Longevity Scan | Daily Scan | |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency | Once every 7 days | Every other measurement |
| Duration | ~120 seconds | ~30 seconds |
| Customizable in the app | No (fixed set of measurements) | Yes (choose your screens) |
| Can be skipped | Yes (postponed to next measurement) | — |
Troubleshooting
-
My Longevity Scan does not include ECG:
Make sure you have completed the ECG tutorial in the Withings app and that your scale has been synced since then. -
The Longevity Scan keeps appearing on every measurement:
The Longevity Scan will be proposed at each weigh-in until it is fully completed. If it is interrupted (for example, if you press the right thumb button on the handle, step off the scale or release the handle too early), it will be proposed again on your next measurement. -
I want to perform my Longevity Scan another time:
Use the Skip option on the scale to postpone it to your next measurement. -
I do not see all my metrics in Daily Scan:
Daily Scan only shows the metrics you have enabled in the app. You can find out how to enable this in this article.
