Our scales benefit from the proprietary Position Control Technology that helps indicate to the user when their weight is not sufficiently balanced.
Follow the guidelines below in order to successfully take a weight measurement:
- Step on the scale barefoot and grab the handle with both hands.
Note: It is not necessary to hold the handle if you just want to take a weight measurement. Holding the handle will ensure that you are able to measure the other metrics available on the scale, including segmental body composition. Make sure that you have the desired screens enabled to be able to measure other metrics.
- Make sure to be centered on the scale: lean frontwards, backwards, left, or right with your body to center the compass found on the screen of the handle. If you are not centered, the compass will appear yellow.
- Once you are centered, the compass will appear green. Remain stable by not moving or talking, without letting the weight fluctuate. The scale will then lock in the weight measurement and then perform any additional measurements.
Note: If a red ‘X’ appears on the screen while attempting to take a measurement, it means that you weren't able to center yourself correctly. Your user name won't be selected, the measurement will stop, and you will not receive any measurement data in the Withings App. Follow the guidelines above in order to take the measurement correctly.
