Withings Heart Function Risk Notifications detect signs that your heart function may be reduced, which may indicate that that your heart does not keep up with your body’s needs. If left untreated, a reduced heart function can affect your cardiovascular health and reduce your quality of life.
These notifications can leverage the data collected by your Withings device and your activity tracker to offer notifications in case the signs of a reduced heart function is detected.
These notifications will appear in your app like so:
How it Works
Heart Function Risk Notifications is a medical feature that analyses demographic (e.g.: age, sex), anthropometric (e.g.: height, weight), and physiological parameter data collected during weigh-ins and with your activity tracker to detect patterns that could indicate a heart function reduction.
If such patterns are detected, you will receive a notification in your Withings App. You will receive a questionnaire to prompt if you have some symptoms that are representative of a heart function reduction. Based on these symptoms, you will either be advised to keep monitoring yourself, or to let your doctor know about these symptoms and this notification.
The questionnaire will appear in your app like so:
In order to start receiving these notifications, be sure to weigh yourself regularly and to import your step counts into your Withings App.
Important: The data collected is done so over a period of several weigh-ins and several days using your activity tracker. If you receive this notification, there’s no need to panic as it does not indicate an emergency cardiovascular event.
If You Receive a Heart Function Risk Notification
Please note, the Heart Function risk notification does not indicate an emergency cardiovascular event. Withings still recommends you follow the steps on the notification:
- Fill out the questionnaire with the best of your knowledge on your own health
- If you receive the following screen, you should keep monitoring yourself.
Note: If you repeatedly receive this notification, you can speak about your heart health with your doctor at your next appointment - If you receive the following screen, you should let your doctor know about the symptoms you prompted and the notification. You may ask if it is relevant to perform a BNP blood test and an electrocardiogram (ECG), which is what is recommended in case of a heart function reduction.
