BeamO can now offer AI-driven feedback for your Stethoscope measurements within the Withings App for both heart and lung sounds with the new StethO Sense feature. StethO Sense is an AI-powered analysis feature built into the Withings app that helps you get more from your BeamO stethoscope recordings. It analyzes your heart and lung sounds and delivers feedback within seconds with the use of two specialized medical AI platforms:
- StethoMe tracks notable sounds in your breathing and gives you a personal Breathing Index. This is a wellness feature.
- EMurmur (by CSD Labs) screens cardiac recordings for abnormal heart sounds (murmurs) This feature has been FDA certified.
Eligibility:
In order to be eligible to make use of StethO Sense, you will need:
- A BeamO device
- An active Withings+ Subscription
- The latest version of the Withings App
Important Note: This feature will be rolled out over the month of October, 2026 by region. If you meet the requirements and still do not see this option, it may be the feature has not yet rolled out to your region.
How to Access:
So long as you meet the eligibility requirements, StethO Sense requires no setup or activation.
No setup or activation is required. StethO Sense is automatically available to Withings+ users with a BeamO. You can launch it from three different places in the Withings app:
- Home tab (after a recording): After syncing a BeamO stethoscope recording, a StethO Sense tile appears directly below your recording on the Home tab. Tap Launch StethO Sense to begin the analysis.
- Measurement detail view: Open any stethoscope recording from your Home, Day, or Month view. In the Clinical Services section, tap the StethO Sense tile to launch an analysis.
- Care tab: Go to the Care tab and find StethO Sense under Clinician-Guided Care. Tap Launch StethO Sense to open the analysis dashboard.
Note: If you do not yet have a Withings+ subscription, tapping any StethO Sense tile will take you to the Withings+ subscription page.
To access the feature right away, follow these steps:
- Take any heart or lung recording with your BeamO's stethoscope as per usual.
- Open your Withings App and find the newly synced recording under your Home tab.
- Tap the tile shown below the recording:
- Tap Analyze with StethO Sense to open the dedicated analysis page.
- Select the recording you want to analyze.
- Results will typically arrive within ten seconds.
Note: Recording results cannot be sent in bulk.
How it Works:
The Heart tab (powered by eMurmur) and the Lung tab (powered by StethoMe) each display a list of your recordings with their analysis status. You can browse past recordings and launch a new analysis at any time.

Heart Analysis by eMurmur
eMurmur analyzes cardiac recordings captured at four standard auscultation positions: Aortic, Pulmonary, Tricuspid, and Mitral areas.
Note: eMurmur is not compatible with BPM Core apex-area recordings.

Lung Analysis by StethoMe
StethoMe tracks notable sounds in your breathing across 8 recording positions (6 positions for children under 12 years old).
Your result include the Breathing Index: a single score from 0 to 100 reflecting the most notable breathing sounds detected in your recording:
- Wheezes: High-pitched sounds often associated with asthma or bronchitis.
- Fine Crackles: Clicking sounds on inhalation, may suggest fluid accumulation or fibrosis.
- Coarse Crackles: Bubbling sounds associated with excess airway secretions.
- Rhonchi (gurgling): Low-pitched obstruction sounds, often clear with coughing.

Is StethO Sense available without Withings+? No. A Withings+ subscription is required. Non-subscribers will see a Withings+ prompt when tapping any StethO Sense tile.
What does the heart result mean if it shows "Abnormal murmur detected"? This does not indicate an emergency medical condition. If you receive this result, bring it up with your doctor at your next regular visit.
Are my recordings shared with a third party? Yes. When you run an analysis, your recording data is sent to eMurmur (CSD Labs) and/or StethoMe for processing. Consent for this data sharing is collected the first time you launch StethO Sense and can be reviewed or changed in the app settings at any time.
