    UPDATE: May 2nd

    Hello everybody,

I'm happy to let you know that our development team has found a fix. You should now be able to export all your Body Scan's data via the API. Don't hesitate to let me know if you need further help.

    Happy Tuesday 💜

    ORIGINAL COMMENT

    Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to hear that only the weight and BMI measurements measured by your Body Scan can be shared via the API. I've let our API team know about it, they are currently working on finding a fix. In the meantime, a tentative solution would be to go to your user preferences and to change the units displayed for fat mass, from % to mass units:

    • If you do it via the web interface: Click on the user icon in the top right corner > select "Settings" > the user you want to update in the panel that opens > "Mass unit" in the "Fat mass display" dropdown.
    • If you do it via your mobile: Tap the user icon in the bottom right corner > the gear icon in the top right corner > select "Units" > toggle OFF "Fat mass in %".

Don't hesitate to let me know if it now works.

    Have a lovely day,

Perhaps my experience is related: Body Scan is the first Withings scale I own. Logging in att account.withings.com there is a 'Web App' as a complement to the usual phone app they call Health Mate. On the web, nothing but Weight and BMI is displayed in the body composition views. "Detail" view has two dashes -- for everything else. "List" view has dashes while the "Graph" is totally empty for bone, fat, muscle and water mass. The "Detail" view has one extra empty 'mass' which is "Lean". One giant bug to rule them all? The release of this scale seems to be a bit premature... I've now had to reset it twice (by pressing and holding the button for ca 28 seconds) because it starts to eat battery - ca 3% per weigh-in or day. That bug is acknowledged by Withings support as "a software issue that can be resolved by resetting the scale". In my view it would be better if they updated the firmware past the buggy 2111 we now have...

I can confirm that the Body Scan does not currently populate the measurement types for anything other than weight and BMI and is thus not expoirtable via  the "getmeas" API action.

Withings please have a look at this. I know the new scale is supposed to populate segmental fat/muscle/bone mass but it should also populate existing measurement types as lots of integrations depend on those.

Really dont get the feeling Withings is reading what we write here... More than a month in the API still doesn't export non-weight segmental weight data for Body Scan. A real shame...

Same here! I only get weight and BMI synced to both their own Health Mate web app as well as their supported partner apps like for example Apple Health. I've just opened a ticket as I assumed that to be a bug but from what I'm reading here it seems to be a product limitation (as of today).

Hi Withings, exactly the same story here. Received my pricy scale last week and will return it soon if you don’t provide a solution immediately. Best Ulli

I have exactly the same problem. Is there an estimated time to solve it?

Why can't we just get an answer...? Really it doesn't cost much to simply say "this feature is not yet implemented"... What's wrong with their client relation team!?

Just wondering.. does the info you are expecting in the api actually exist in the Healthmate app? Not sure if it's related or not but we've just got the bodyscan. It's not measuring anything other than weight & bmi. Once the measuring cycle is over it ends with a "Body" error with a flashing X. Over about 40 measurements it's only done a proper body scan about 3 times! The £400 bodyscan is actually showing less information than our previous Body+

@degsyh I've had some difficulties in the beginning with the measurements but now it is consistent and the data is indeed present in the app.

    How I take measurements:
Everyday after waking up I take a shower.
After finishing and With the feet wet (but not soaking wet) + a light shorts to avoid skin-to-skin contact I take my measurements, paying attention to not move during the procedure. Hope it helps, at least more than the Withings team are doing now...

Yeah, your issue seems unrelated. My Body Scan definitely records all the metrics. They do show in the mobile app. But nada in the API or Web App.

Withings keeps us in the dark.

The problem is, that the data does not appear in the API. And this ONLY happens with the flagship scale. To be clear: if anyone would want to use the API, he would ONLY get weight nothing else.

My case below. I sent my 400EUR scale back and will keep using the 100EUR scale. Withings support refused to accept the bug.

you might also check out this post: https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/12681591378705-Body-Scan-scale-doesn-t-work-with-Withings-API-missing-data

    1) I want to import body composition data from the Withings Body Scan scale to Garmin Connect (at least weight, body fat, but also bone mass, muscle mass, or water %).
    2) Garmin Connect hardly allows import of data.
    3) Apple Health does not solve my requirements (no import of data to Garmin Connect possible).
    4) Therefore, there is a service that closes this gap using Withings API. This service accesses the Withings API and writes the data to Garmin Connect. This works great with all scales from Withings (specifically: Withings Body+ scale synchronises weight, body fat, bone mass, muscle mass, and water % with Garmin Connect). So there is a solution.
    5) Problem: with the new Withings flagship Body Scan scale, the Withing API no longer works. Only weight, heart rate, and pulse wave velocity are made available (no body fat, bone mass, muscle mass, or water %).
    6) As a consequence, instead of weight, body fat, bone mass, muscle mass, and water % as with all previous Withings scales, the new Body Scan scale only syncs weight to Garmin Connect.

Worse even: Withings does not recognise this as a bug. There is literally no one working on this. Everyone affected should open a support ticket at contact-sup@withings.com

Just checked the web app - they finally added it! I don't know about the API but at least the web app now shows lean/fat mass

I have never had that issue. All data have always been shown in Web-App, App etc. Only the API fails

For me, at least, they were missing from the web app. There's also another question on the subject matter.

But anyway, I hope they'll eventually address this issue as well.

The Web issue seems to be 'hit and miss'. I, still as reported in the first reply to this thread, only have weight and BMI under the "Weight" data. It has been so with the Body Scan from day one - on FW 2111 - to today on FW 2281. The Health Mate app (version 5.13.2) is fine on Android, showing everything, and has never been a problem.

Same friggen problem and complete B/S from the 1-800 number and they lie like they had no idea what was happening and ask for all kinds of information.

Maybe if we all returned the scan scales for a full refund, France would get the message.

The API is not rocket science.  All of the scale data show up on my iPhone.  Someone in France forgot to update the data display on the web, and complete rewrite the 'Measurement Details to include all of the original information the way it was, plus all of the new scan information as it is displayed on the scan scale along with updating the graphs.

This my 4th scale from withings with 12 years worth of continuous data right up until my scale arrived January 9, 2023.  This a really big disappointment!!

The Dec 6, 2022, Withings hardware release is the most sophisticated home scale now in existence. Why, after almost 4-months, is there no indication from Withings that their Web display:

    1-has not been updated,

2-there is no acknowledgement from them that there is a problem and when it will be resolved.

3-they are still selling the hardware as if there is no problem.

Withing is not a new or young company, so there is no excuse for them to tarnish its reputation.  All of the data is on their server and in my phone.  How much effort does it take to at least rewrite the display, even as a beta version, if necessary?  All they need to do is take the data already transported to their data base and display it either in their chronological table or on a graph, as they have been doing for 12 years!!!!  :(
