It's the firmware. My watch battery started draining after the last firmware update, well before the new updated HealthMate app was released

My current Scan Watch is less than 6 months old. It is my 3rd Withings watch. I love them (mainly due to battery life). Since the firmware update, my watch’s battery seems to only last 1-2 days! Ugh. Withings needs to address this rapidly… at least as rapidly as the battery drains. Clearly, the latest update didn’t go through adequate testing. This is ridiculous.

Maybe two different issues but for some people here it was the app not the firmware

Same here: scanwatch 1
- battery died at night with the watch completely shutting down
- full charge barely holds for a day (even without workouts)
- used to run ~ 3 weeks

I agree it was around the upgrade surely Withings look in to an update for this battery issue you have to many people complain
for some thing that was to last 500 charge cycles mines lucky if it last 15 before this issue

Same battery drain problem- since 24 sept. Battery drops from 100% overnight to 50%!
Software version 2741
Withings please solve the problem or give me a new scanwatch. I bought my watch in January this year. Please give me advise.
I already did the factory reset- no result.

I think the problem will be in the Withings Health Mate application version 6.0.0. I signed up for the app's beta program (https://testflight.apple.com/join/W6nOwUHe) I tried version 6.0.1. and the problem with battery life remained, the application in this version also does not evaluate the fitness level. If you are in the beta program, you can go back to version 5.16.3. I have it installed since yesterday, the battery in the watch was charged to 100% this morning and it has not yet decreased. This time yesterday the battery was down 25%-30% My operating system is IOS mobile iPhone 13 PRO MAX. I wonder how ANDROID users are doing

Thank YOU!
Did the downgrade of the app to 5.16.3 (for me was since the app update, I am on iOS) and back to lovely battery usage!

Looks like there are at least 2 causes leading to the same issue as for most people (including me) at the beginning of the topic, the issue happened before the new app version.
At some point we'll all have to ask for a replacement of the watch covered by the warranty...

How do you downgrade the app??

What is your operating system?

I have a battery problem after updating the app

I'll try downgrading to 5.14.0 apk.
There are public apk archives and it just a matter or running 1 or 2 adb commands...
I'll keep you posted but for me the issue started before so I'm not sure it will help :(

Very helpful indeed. I’d like to downgrade to 5.16.3 as well. How do I do this?

I have the same issue as all the other users above. My Scanwatch went from a few weeks to not even lasting 24 hours.
So far I do not see any long-term solutions in this thread, so am adding my message to add to the list.

I wonder if anyone from support reads this forum
I don't see any response from them :(

@chmelan.pavol : that's the most disappointing part for me. A bug can happen, it's fine... but Withings shows very little care of their customers here. Communication is the key...
I downgraded heath mate to 5.14.0. Just follow this procedure if you're on Android : https://www.makeuseof.com/downgrade-android-app-with-adb/
If you're terrible with a computer, just wait a feedback... I'm charging my watch right now and I guess in 2 days I'll have a feedback.
The landing page in Health Mate remains a black page but the dashboard is fine, it's connected to my watch, my activities are still there...
I'll post an update but I'm not very optimistic as a lot of people had the issue before HM 6.0.0 like me. It looks like some people have been lucky with the downgrade, fingers crossed.

@david.rivoal I look forward to your feedback.
I contact the support via chat.
They refute that the drainage is linking to the app and say downgrading the app is not possible. They say it must be a hardware problem.
Following our exchange they offered a 50% discount on a new watch (after I said a 25% discount is not a satisfactory solution). I must say I am quite disappointed and a new watch is not the solution I want.
The new version with all functions of the Scanwatch looks completely different. The slim new version does not have all the functions. Quite unfortunate, I really was a fan of Withings up to this point.

Forget about the app version.
I was 100% yesterday evening... 87% when I woke up... 81% now.
Save you the pain of downgrading...

@david.royal
That's unfortunate. I was really hoping that would help.

You are right, yesterday at 6AM my watch was charged to 100% until today at 8AM and now at 11:45AM only 24% :(

Watch has been rendered virtually unusable because of this. 100% at 7am, down to 60% at 11am. Wonder how long this will take to solve…
likes
Looks like they won't solve it, they are in denial of this issue...

Same fo rme started very promising ... but same crappy
Contacted via chat withings and as my watch is still under warranty they said it has a HW issue and I will get a replacement for free ... lets see

Same problem here. Battery is gone in just a couple of days suddenly. If it continues I will have to get a refund. Battery life is their great selling point.

My latest battery charge lasted a whole 2 days!
Never wear it at night so automatic oxygen saturation and respiratory scan are turned off. I’ve started logging my battery performance daily…
9/22: 100% charged
9/22-9/26: Traveling, no workouts recorded
9/26: 12% factory reset, drained to 0% before charging
9/27: 100% charged overnight,
9/28: 46%
9/29: 19%, 0% by end of day

Ref comment about a hardware issue. That’s interesting. So this hardware issue manifested itself basically at the same time in all these watches. Does this mean that the latest firmware update “broke” something in these watches, and all we can do is get a refund, because it’s not fixable?

I have the same problem, the battery is spent in 3 days. I bought it on Amazon, I'm going to claim the warranty coat. My Scanwatch is 3 months old.

Same issue here : I contacted the support and, as my watch is still under warranty, they offered me a replacement.
I got a voucher to return mine first and they will send a new one afterward.
Hope this help

The advise of the supportteam is: contact them and then they can help you.
Today I got the possibility to return my scanwatch so I can get a new one. What the cause is of the draining battery I have not been told. Hopefully the new watch will last longer than my old one!
