As I recently gave birth, my weight at some point became the same as my husband's. We both use the scale and account determination went wrong when scaling. I can't reassign those values. I'm upset.

And you call this an “update”, fine. I’ll do an update too trashing my body+ that Whitings crippled whit software, just because they are probably about to launch a paid subscription plan for multiple users. Well done! Do you know which brand my next scale won’t be? Exactly.

Ridiculous. Whatever product manager approved this change needs to actually learn how customers are using their product!

another stroke of genius from withings. 5 months without being able to solve the problem related to the inconclusive cardiac data warning and now also the reduction of the services offered. there are 5 of us in the family, 99 euros each for withings + not even if they give me three scales a year. bad purchase.

Joining the angry brigade. After trying unsuccessfully to add my husband for almost 2 hours, I now realize the issue - it is no longer possible. This was our whole point of investing in this scale - for both of us to utilize in one app. Never would have invested several hundred dollars for this! Very sorry I did. What crap! This moronic decision makes me doubt the quality of everything you do.

Just got my scale and added children on my account, which the wife cannot see on her account. Totally stupid functionality not being able seeing all family member on one account. Joining the "angry brigade" also, change the functionality back.. this is not family friendly. We will most likely send the scale back since we are not happy, luckily we have that option still.

    Hi,

I can not believe we will have to create 2 accounts to use a freaking scale.

This is a really bad UX decision.

The worst is that you didn't bother updating the documentation, i am looking for the "family option" for 30 minutes now, very nice experience, really, thank you.

Yeah this is ridiculous. I’ve been so disappointed with Withings and have been a loyal customer for years. Because of how difficult it is to simply add my elderly mother to my scale, I will no longer be supporting this company. As a UX designer I know you are not supposed to REMOVE functionality like this and in such a stupid stupid way. All to increase your user base while completely failing your existing customers. I assume some executive made the decision and your poor UX teams had to go along with it. Been there done that. PS update your documentation and act like a professional company.

Fail after user experience fail — there are other brands that have the same if not more accurate functionality now. So disappointing.

Piling in with the Angry mob, removing this functionality for multiple products that I use has made this quite the challenge with others in your household.

Looking for other products now to replace these.

The notion that an external entity possesses superior knowledge of my preferences is fundamentally erroneous.

I can just agree with the general feedback here. First of all, it's a huge overhead to deal with multiple accounts within a family. Second, we have now spent hours to try to get the scale to learn who is who in the family. However, once we have multiple accounts, the scale (body comp+) auto-assigns the weight to always the same person. No choice is being offered on the scale, no re-assignments possible within the app. If I don't find a way to resolve this, the scale will go back to Amazon and we'll delete our accounts.

Would have to agree with all the comments. Have been a long time fan. My 2 daughters and I all weigh roughly the same and the problems we’ve had have been crazy trying assign and reassign weights - never mind that they didn’t even want their own accounts. Bring back the family feature!

It's all due to money. Forcing every adult to have an own account also pushes people to have multiple subscriptions instead of a family. It's more lucrative for the company. Probably in Withings market research they found the market of couples interested in own personal data and willing to pay for two accounts subscription more lucrative than families. Hence they are willing to piss off families customer segment.

Am I right or do I have to apologise to Withings? Maybe the feature came back?

    Hello @everyone,

Thank you for reaching out. I hear the frustration and "anger brigade" loud and clear. I completely understand how disappointing it is to find that a feature you’ve relied on for years—managing your entire family’s health data under one login—has changed. Many of you feel that this is a step backward in user experience, especially for couples and families who share a scale.

I want to clarify the current state of Family Profiles and why these changes were implemented:

    • The "Why" Behind the Change: To ensure the highest level of data privacy and compliance with global health regulations (like GDPR), adult users (17+) are now required to have their own independent Withings accounts. This ensures that sensitive medical data (like ECGs or Vascular Age) is only accessible by the individual it belongs to, unless they explicitly choose to share it.

    • How to Share Today: While adults can no longer be "nested" inside another person's account, you can still see each other's data by using the Share Tab. Once each adult has their own account, you can send a "Share" link. Your family members will then appear in your app, and you can view their trends just as before.

    • Children and Minors: You can still add and manage profiles for children (under 16) directly within your primary account. This is found under the Share Tab > Children.

    • Scale Recognition: If your scale is "auto-assigning" weights incorrectly between people of similar builds, it is often because the scale needs a fresh "sync" with the new separate accounts. Ensure the secondary user has accepted the "Share" invite and has weighed in once to establish their new baseline on the scale.

We recognize that the transition to multiple accounts can feel like "overhead" for a busy household. Your feedback regarding a unified Family/Household Plan or a more seamless "one-app" experience for families is being heard and has been shared directly with our Product and UX teams.

If you are having trouble with the "Submit" button on the web portal or the invitation links, please reach out to Withings Customer Support via chat here.

    Regards,

I’d be ok with the feature just moving into different accounts.

On my scale though, the scal is not able to identify my son, my wife or myself any longer. And I don’t have the ability to select a profile directly on the scale. It should be easy because there is more than one 20 kg between each of us but the scale only falls back to one default acccount!!!

Whithings are you seeing the RESOUNDING feedback to this change?! Please bring it back. This has and will affect my consideration for buying any of your products in future.
