    Hello everyone,

    Have a lovely day,

Exactly the same issue with pixel 7...
Withings app drains the battery completely since Android 14 update.

Had no problem with Android 13.

Tried to reinstall, reboot, etc, several times. Still the same problem

Note : when removing notifications rights the app do not drain the battery anymore (nothing in fact). But without notifications the watch is much much less useful for me...

Same issue here on Pixel 7. I hope it can be resolved before I have to stop using the watch. It's been a solid experience until now.

I've now set it to Restricted in the app permissions - it does mean I lose notifications but it's down from using 40% of my battery use to 5%

I also noticed the watch battery was draining fast as well - about 25% a day.

I'll just have to leave it there until the issue is sorted 🤷‍♂️

Same on Pixel 5a.  Battery drain is insane (72% over 24 hours from last weekend).  I tried clearing the cache, force quitting + clearing cache, etc. but that didn't help

same issue, pixel 6a, have had it for less than 6 months and after Android 14 update, phone battery lasts less than 12 hours and withings app is 60-75% of battery usage, even after restricting app permissions

I have the same issue on the latest app update. Device is a Sony Xperia 5 ii on Android 12, so I don't think it is tied to a specific Android version, but rather the latest app version. Since the update the app has been draining more battery somehow than any game or other intensive application, simply by running in the background, and causing my phone to also generate a lot of heat. It seems like there's an accidental spinloop or something introduced into the background service causing the CPU to run constantly. Using the "Manage battery usage" Android feature to restrict the app's activity doesn't help.

I've uninstalled the app for now just so I don't have to recharge my phone 5 times a day, but obviously I'd rather have the app installed because its otherwise pretty great.

Please fix this Withings. It is making me want to uninstall the app to protect my battery. I am on Pixel 7 Pro, buy it seems that this is wider problem.

Now getting the same issue on Samsung S21, using 75% of my battery and now my phone only lasts 4 or 5 hours on a charge.
Seems to be since the latest Android update.
Putting the app into a deep sleep sorted it but means I don't get any notifications and the watch doesn't sync automatically.
    Please fix ASAP

Same problem, Samsung A52s 5G, Android 13 connected to a ScanWatch 2. I managed to temporarily solve it by deleting application data, then resetting everything, but the problem came back in a few days. It is very frustrating.

I've now reinstalled the app and downgraded to version 6.0.1 and so far am no longer seeing the battery drain problem for a few hours but will keep an eye on it. This agrees with my suspicion that this is a bug introduced in version 6.1.0.

It was the first time, my fone shuts down...

I can confirm what @scoakley.dragonscale wrote. I sideloaded the 6.0.1 version on my Pixel 6 and the battery drain issues are gone.
So long Withings doesn't solve the issue, I won't update the app 😤

As said earlier, exactly the same on pixel 7 pro. Gone to restricted battery access to see what difference that makes.

Downgrading to 6.0.0 solved the issue in my case, too. All went back to normal

Okay so I downgraded the app to 6.0.1. Let's see if this helps. Super frustrating that this is what has to be done.

How do you downgrade to 6.0 to preserve battery life?

I used this apkmirror to downgrade :

    https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/withings/nokia-health-mate/nokia-health-mate-6-0-1-release/#downloads

    Effectively, it works.
I don't really get how the app is so badly (not ?) tested before release...

@mathieu: How did you get it installed? Uninstall former app? What about my personal data and devices?

    Reason: Downgrade broke up...

@vastl your data should be safe at withings
I reinstalled the app multiple times and never had any data loss. The only tedious task is to enable notifications on the scan watch for each app.
And you have to remove the previous version from your phone!

    Ok, thanks!

"And you have to remove the previous version from your phone!" - I thought so. Wouldnt be amused, if I have to reinstall all devices and settings...

Is there a chance, withings reads this stuff? Would be nice, if they comment it. Problem is urgent for some days....

Yep, having the same issue on Pixel 4a, Android 13. For me, even restricting the background usage doesn't help at all.

Good suggestion to downgrade, I'll do that, but I'd appreciate Withings working a bit quicker with a hotfix for such a significant and seemingly widespread issue.

@vastl No, you don't have to set up all of your devices; they will be available to you from the app after it syncs with your account!

And I also contacted their support, so they should have an eye on the thread ;)
