What does this mean for me, a user of the Baby Companion app without a Smart Kid Scale?
If you are using iOS 11, the Baby Companion app will no longer open and you will not be able to use the app to track your child's height and weight. To continue tracking this data, we recommend that you download our free Withings App. You can sign into the Withings App with the same email address and password that you currently use with Baby Companion and your child’s data will appear in it allowing you to pick up where you left off.
Important note: You will no longer be able to use the Baby Companion app to track your child's feedings. This feature is not available in the Withings App.
If your iOS device is not updating to iOS 11, there will not be any change to the way you use the Baby Companion app.
What does this mean for me, a user of the Baby Companion app with a Smart Kid Scale?
If your iOS device is updating to iOS 11, the Baby Companion app will no longer open.
If your Smart Kid Scale is configured to sync via Bluetooth, you can no longer sync your child's measurements, unless you reconfigure the scale for Wi-Fi syncing. You can find instructions on how to do this here. After doing this, all measurements will appear in the Withings App.
If you use your Smart Kid Scale over Wi-Fi, your child's measurements will continue to sync, but will be available in our Withings App only.
Note: Once you have updated to iOS 11, you will not be able to change your scale configuration (whether your scale is configured for Bluetooth or Wi-Fi syncing).
If your iOS device is not updating to iOS 11, there will not be any change to the way you use the Baby Companion app.
How can I continue to use Baby Companion?
We recommend that you make any changes to the Smart Kid Scale's connectivity before updating your iOS device, as you will no longer be able to do so after the iOS 11 update. Click here for more information.
If your iOS device is not updating to iOS 11, there will not be any change to the way you use Baby Companion.
Why is the Baby Companion app being discontinued?
iOS 11 only supports 64-bit applications. The Baby Companion app was written as a 32-bit application, and will not be updated.
