It is very rare, yet possible, that some users may have a reaction to certain materials. This may be due to allergies, environmental factors or prolonged exposure to irritants such as soap or sweat. Reactions may include:
- An allergic reaction to the materials used in the back case of the watch.
- A photosensitizing medication.
Note: Our watches are in compliance with the photobiological lamps standards (IEC EN 62471).
Notes about wristbands
Our wristbands are either made of FKM, silicone, leather, recycled PET or stainless steel (Milanese and metal wristbands).
To make sure you have the best experience, we recommend you to follow the tips below:
- Make sure your wristband is clean and dry, particularly after workouts (running, swimming…). It’s also important to clean the inside of your wristband, especially after the shower.
- Make sure to let your skin breathe. If you wear your watch all day, do not hesitate to remove it for at least an hour. For instance, you can remove your watch before taking a shower.
- Make sure your wristband is tight enough while still remaining comfortable. If you experience redness, we recommend you to loosen your wristband a bit.
Your wristband should be cleaned regularly. Moisturizers, soaps, and sweat residues can cause skin irritations. In case of skin irritation, we advise you to get in touch with a dermatologist before you put your watch back on.
If you encounter an issue with your wristband, please check this article.
Important information on glass integrity
Please note that the gorilla glass of the ScanWatch Light is very strong and scratch-resistant, but can still be broken with sufficient force. While broken glass is not covered by our warranty, we encourage you to reach out to Customer Service with a picture of the damage.
Note: We do not recommend polishing the glass of the watch.
Important information on water resistance
Your ScanWatch Light can withstand a pressure similar to that of a 50 m (165 ft) depth. You can, therefore, use it when dishwashing, splashing, or swimming. However, it can’t be used for diving or snorkeling.
We recommend you to read the information below before wearing your ScanWatch Light.
- Do not press or rotate the side button of your watch when it is underwater (for instance during water activity). The side button is not intended to be rotated underwater.
- Avoid long exposure to saltwater. Make sure you rinse your watch with fresh water after spending time swimming in salted water.
- Avoid exposure to any chemical products such as solvents, detergents, perfumes, or cosmetics. They may damage the wristband or the casing of the watch.
- Avoid extreme atmospheres (e.g., saunas or steam rooms).
- The aging of the materials may affect the waterproofness of the watch. Water resistance cannot be permanently guaranteed.
