Preparing for a Measurement
Make sure you follow these guidelines before taking a measurement:
- Ensure you are seated with elbows on the table and your feet flat on the floor.
- Don't speak or move during recording (especially your finger).
- Ensure your finger is clean but not overly dry.
- Ensure your finger is not scarred or calloused at the point of contact.
Note: You can use any finger for the measurement so long as it covers the sensor completely. - Wait at least 10 minutes after waking up or working out before taking your measurement.
- Ensure you and the BeamO are in the same ambient temperature for 10 minutes before taking your measurement.
- Ensure you are at least 1.5 feet from any power outlets or large electronic devices (such as computers, tvs, etc).
- Do not take a measurement on a premature baby.
How to take a measurement
To take a measurement, follow these steps:
- Turn on the device by pressing the button.
- Choose your user profile.
- Navigate to the SpO2 Icon:
- Rest the pad of your forefinger over the sensor on the right electrode as indicated:
Note: Make sure the pad of your finger is covering the entire SpO2 sensor. - The measurement will start automatically and last for 30 seconds.
- Ensure the pressure indicator on the left of the display remains in the green section for the duration of the measurement.
Note: Too much or too little pressure can result in premature measurement failure.
