Note: If your scale is brand new, make sure to pull the tab from the battery compartment on the bottom of your scale. If you are reinstalling your scale, please remove a battery and replace it to reset the scale and start the installation process. 

Before beginning installation, make sure of the following:

1. You know your Wi-Fi password.
2. Your phone's bluetooth is on.
3. The Withings App has permission to access your location.

To install your Body Scan scale, please follow these steps:

1. Open the Withings App.
2. Tap the Devices icon and then the plus (+) symbol.
   
   
3. Tap Scales, then Body Comp.
4. Tap Start Installation.
5. Press and hold the pairing button on the top side of the scale for at least three seconds to turn it on.
6. The scale screen should show a QR code and the words "Open Withings App."
7. Once the app detects the scale, tap Next.
   Note: It may take up to a minute for your scale to be detected by your mobile device.
8. You will be asked to pair your scale. Select Pair on the bottom of the screen.
9. A Bluetooth Pairing Request window will then pop up in the app and ask you to enter a 6-digit pairing code.
10. Please check the screen of your Body Scan for the code.
    
11. Once you have entered the code in the app, select Pair on the pop-up window.
12. Wait for the app to find and update your scale.
13. Select your preferred Wi-Fi network. Enter the password of your Wi-Fi network and tap Connect to install your scale via Wi-Fi.
    Note: You can also tap Scan QR Code or Manual Configuration .
14. If you do not have a Wi-Fi network or prefer to connect your device to only sync via Bluetooth, select No Wi-Fi Available.
    Note: For usability and synchronization purposes, Withings recommends Wi-Fi installation. 
15. Once your scale is connected, your installation is complete and you can tap Explore Features!
