    I have used the app for over 4 years - the changes to the graph have made it utterly useless. I do not want to see my average weight for a day - I want to see the full set of data points. Baffling that you'd change this. Scrolling on the graph again, utterly broken.

    Downgraded the APK and disabled updates - fix this Withings.

    Dear Armelle

    Yesterday you wrote:

    “ Our UX/UI team are taking all your comments very seriously and have decided to contact some of you to understand what we can improve”

    What your paying customers want to known is:

    1. Will you be reverting back to (or at least providing the user option) the detailed version of the weight graph from the pre 5.13 update; and

    2. If so, when!

    Your lack of clarification is providing significant customer dissatisfaction and your ongoing delay is only waking it worse and no doubt having the associated impact our your brand and product reputation

    Please address this issue without further delay.

    @Armelle,

    Are Withings serious about fixing the app update? Just wondering, as customer services have stopped responding to my emails.

    Please fix the following:

    1) Show weight gain/loss at the top of the month/quarter/year view.

    2) Remove the useless and highly inaccurate "stable weight" and "losing muscle" messaging. I've steadily gained muscle for the past year, yet it says "losing muscle"??

    3) Bring back the ability to see granular individual measurements on the month/quarter/year view.

    4) Put all the body comp info on the same screen as the weight measurements

    5) Put the "overweight/underweight" and similarly associated body comp green ranges back on the charts.

    6) Show the overlapping trend line

    7) Show the goal weight line

    8) Ability to set a goal weight in the app

    I use this app every single day to track my temp, weight, sleep, and blood pressure. I share this data with friends and family in the form of screenshots, and I can't do that with this new update that spreads the data across different screens, or just doesn't show it anymore.

    @Armelle,

    I'm really glad to hear the UX team is taking the comments seriously, that's fantastic news! I think it's clear that its an emotive subject and that people have been upset by the loss of features that they have come to trust and rely upon. It can feel quite destabilising to lose what has become quite an important support!

    For me, the way the app used to display weight trends was a real USP and was one of the things that kept me in the Wihings ecosystem. What was so valuable about it was that the trendline was not too 'tight' to the actual data points. This gave the best representation of the fact that weight can fluctuate quite widely even as you are losing or gaining weight. It's the trendline going up or down that's important, rather than weight on the day, and the combination of individual day's data, shown in the context of the trend, is what has been lost. This is more than just a data visualization issue, it's actually hugely emotionally comforting when you've gained 0.5kg when you've been doing everything 'right' but you can see that overall your trend is in the right direction and you are doing ok. It helps people be kind to themselves in a situation - when trying to lose weight - when stepping on the scales and looking at the results can be quite an important part of the day.

    The scales on the axis of the body composition are now less relevant, as the values for these tend to change more slowly over time, and fractions of a percent make a difference. The effect of the changes is that it's impossible to see change over time unless those changes are very dramatic. This could cause harm if people feel (incorrectly) that they are not making 'progress' and could encourage more drastic and less healthy diet choices.

    I would be very happy to discuss this further with the team and to be contacted.

    I really love the Withings ecosystem - I've turned down a free Fitbit recently as I value the app so highly. It's great to know the team takes this feedback seriously and I look forward to further developments to help bring important functionality back to the app and ecosystem.

    Lol at needing feedback...

    You are supposed to ask/look for feedback before launching a major change, not after...the whole bloody beta program is for that...

    These few posts related to this update are by far the most commented posts on the entire forum. If you go on the google play store and sort comments by date, all the latest are abysmal.  You don't need a rocket scientist to figure out this is a major screwup. Removing the ability to see the data with a high degree of granularity for an app designed to collect lots of data points wasn't the brightest idea, who would have thought it...

    Completely reverting to the previous version probably means someone will have to justify all the dev hours/costs spent for nothing. I'm pretty sure this would be easier to justify than a decrease in hardware sales...

    @Armelle,

    The news that ...

    Our UX/UI team are taking all your comments very seriously and have decided to contact some of you to understand what we can improve

    ... is not at all reassuring. It sounds like "management speak" to create a smokescreen. The words "to understand what we can improve" are complete nonsense. It's crystal clear that the app's best and most important functionality has been removed & replaced. Why?

    Why hasn't Mathieu Letombe (CEO) made some sort of statement to his customers?

    One of my friends has bought his wife a new Withings Body Scan as a Christmas present... at my suggestion!!! I'm embarrassed. I've already told him to return it.

    So far there has not been a single encouraging word on this forum from Withings.

    From the official Withings support:

    “ I appreciate you bringing this to my attention and the screenshot you sent me. I'm sorry that some of the features have changed after the update, however, we've got no option to revert back to the previous version.” - Mark

    I’m not sure if this is supposed to imply that they’ve fundamentally changed the underlying data and can’t revert, if they don’t use version control software. As a software engineer myself, you simply do a git revert, update the version number, and push to Apple/Google.

    Or, is it because it will remove the “body scan” support they’ve added, for a product that isn’t even released yet. I’m sure they’re probably weeks away from announcing its approval by the FDA for sale in the U.S. and they don’t want to have to revert and reintegrate hardware support for a product they hope to get out for everyone’s New Year’s resolutions.

    All the data points are still on their servers.

    If you do a clean wipe and sideload the old 5.12 all is as it was before.

    Them not being able to revert is just BS.

    Hi All,

    This is a french business, so probably nobody is reading our comments anyway since there is organizational chaos, as it should be in every normal organization in France. :D Even if they read our comments, their internal cohesion is usually strong; they are not listening to external people who don't drink coffee with them each afternoon. They don't understand how we could be pissed off when they all are convinced that they are sort of enlightening us! :D

    Yes, I used to work for Airbus in Toulouse, and it is a very challenging engineering culture to work with, or within, especially if you have an American accent. I'm confident there is no chance of Withings admitting that a mistake has been made. I would love them to prove me wrong. Some pretty great tech has just been destroyed, and its demise is already being defended in the name of progress. Sad. There is still the web version of the chart (for now) or (worst case) a pencil and graph paper.

    Agree with all the comments regarding the new weight tracker graphs. I have never posted in a feedback thing like this but the update is terrible. I have used this app quite happily and recommended others to get the scales since 2018 and this now adds zero value.

    Thanks for taking all this on board as it looks like you may reverse it - that would be a great move.

    Trying very hard to not just pile on but this update in terms of weight tracking is just a complete mess - I’d be better recording the data as I get it in an excel spreadsheet, I strongly suggest that you roll back and then engage with your users around changes and build some real life user stories or you are in danger of losing many users.

    Do not iterate on this version as a base, roll back for your user base and then beta test functionality on a toggle on/off basis in the future.

    I’ve literally never commented before but I searched this out just to share how much I hate this update. I was on a weight loss roll and this has completely disrupted my momentum because the visual motivation experience is completely gone. The data isn’t useful to me presented in this manner - it’s actually confusing and discouraging. After using this company since 2015 I am now looking for a replacement. Please bring back the old format - it looks as though it is a resounding request from the Withings community.

    I just witnessed a new "feature" of this app that I previously hadn't noticed. I wanted to measure a mirror's weight, so I stood with the mirror and then stood without, I then deleted the weight with the mirror from my data. That data is STILL used to show an average weight for the entire day instead of just showing the one actual data point that still exists for the day. That is 100% a bug. Clearly the average is updated with each weigh-in, but not when data is removed.

    Something I will test tomorrow is weighing myself, then holding something else, delete that measurement, then weigh myself again to see if the average corrects itself or if the higher weigh-in is still factored in

    Another down vote for the so-called "upgrade", which for my purposes is completely useless.  Please revert to the old version.  A question for Withings - The people responsible for the design and approval of this new update, have they ever even used the product?

    I agree with all previous posts, this new version is horrible, is inaccurate, confusing, omits data, it’s difficult to navigate, etc. As well, it is creating duplicate entries every time I use it, which never occurred with version 5.12.2!

    I agree with everyone else. The new upgrade is terrible. What happened to all the graphs showing progress with muscle, water mass, etc? I am in the market for a new scale as my withing is 3 years old and I want an upgrade. If this app doesn't improve quick I will be getting my new scale from another company.

    Unfortunate that Withings made this UX/UI change, but I am thankful that I had linked it with my fitbit app. At least I have a weight, BMI, and lean vs fat. Very similar to the previous release from Withings. This is not a good marketing approach for Withings, instead of selling your own watches, people will flock to fitbit.

    @customer service
    On android here, in the UK, the beta program has been full for quite a while. Since I'm in the habit of joining betas that's the first thing I checked before commenting. I hope this is just here and it's not representative of how much attention you pay to the beta user...the ones that apparently gave you good feedback on this update..

    @anybody else
    Any recommendations for a similar scale? Ideally would the ability to import the data points from either Samsung health or Google fit.

    I can't believe "getting the numeric readout from the scale" is no longer considered a key feature of the app. This is an idiotic change that defeats the whole purpose of having the scale.

    The body water measurement seems to have disappeared.  Is that right, or am I missing something?  For those monitoring their muscle mass, the water measurement is very important.  It's the figure I looked at first, and now I can't see it at all ??

    Also, the dashboard now shows height, "helpfully" indicating that my height has not changed since the last reading, yesterday.  Really?  Ridiculous!

    I'm also looking for a new scale (any recommendations?), and beyond disappointed at Withings' actions.

    Those new texts from Armelle (Dec. 22, 2022) show that Withings obviously has not understood what a serious mess they made with the August 2022 update of the app.

    Reintroducing some old features to a badly unstable and crashing app WILL NOT AT ALL remedy the dire situation.

    OK so I’m done, it’s sounds to me like they are going to mess this up further by trying to fix their obvious mistakes, by integrating further mistakes, rather than go back to what worked!
    As it stands now, not only are the graphs unfathomable, the app doesn’t seem to know what day it is, still creates duplicate entries, shows an older version of firmware than what is supposed to be current and will not update, the list goes on!
    Unlike others, I am able to return the scale I bought still and will be doing so and looking at a different company’s product to meet my needs.

    Officially withings scale became dud for me, unless I can find a software which shows all the measurements without any filtering or averaging. Those guys have no intention to change course for this crowd’s complaints, they insist on this new way of showing data. Good luck with that. By the way Apple’s Health app also do the similar crap, but at least they have granularity of few hours in a day (i.e. if you take three measurements in a day 6 hours apart, you can still see them on a graph). Do not wait for those guys to revert anything, this is the new way you will see your data.

    @Armelle - With all due respect, I do not believe you have "answered all (our) questions and concerns" in your last post. I am still experiencing software that Withings crippled with the 5.13 update. I, like many others, would like a return of the ability to view detailed, granular data. I would like properly-scaled graphs with the previous pinch zoom functionality. I would like to, once again, view weight trends and body fat in one view. None of these issues are addressed in your recent update.

    You post that Withings is "working hard on new tools that will provide more advanced data exploration than ever before." Perhaps you can give us more details on this. Are you moving the viewing functions we have lost into a paid subscription service? Will IOS customers regain the pinch zoom you are promising Android customers? We really need some details here.
