@nwoods "medically more meaningful"! Well that statement shows Withings do not consult with anyone with any medical or scientific training. facepalm

I've tested the 5.14 preview (I signed up as a beta tester after 5.13 disaster)

I've created a new post for this

You have completely ruined your software. Admit your mistakes and rollback to the original release prior to these crippling and pointless changes. I've used the scale as an essential tool in tracking dailly comparative data for 3 years, and in one fail swoop you have essentially ruined the scale's

functionality. If it isn't changed soon I will have to buy a new scale and would never recommend again this product.

Such a bizarre exec decision to release such poorly designed software over a well functioning existing implementation.

I have to make a comment as well. I've been using the scale and Health Mate app since 2014 and these changes have destroyed the usefulness of the app. Clearly, these changes are ideological and not functional changes. They seem, by design, intended to obscure the tracking of weight changes over the course of the day, and by day. Averages are useless information. Stable weight means nothing. I've lost 10 lbs in 5 weeks so far in 2023 and during this time the app has informed me that my weight is "stable". Nowhere can I find the tracking of my weight loss per month as the app used to do. I've never seen a piece of software so hobbled intentionally by its developers. I used to access this app 2-3 times per day. There is no reason to use it now. I sure hope they bring back useful features for weight loss.

I've read on twitter that they finally decided to do an interface rebuild so I hope that this would means that they have understood that the current version is not good for the majority, specially for the "power users"

I hope that the UI team have read all the user messages and the next update will be closer to the user needs.

    @jrubinart

If you're referring to the Feb 15 tweet, "We decided to rebuild the interface to improve clarity."

You can read it 2 ways:

    (1) We decided to rebuild the interface (for 5.13) to improve clarity... but now it is useless

    (2) We now realize what a massive mistake it was, and we've finally decided to rebuild the interface (again)

I'm afraid it's almost certainly the former, not the latter. I hope I'm wrong. Is there another tweet?

Nono I'm talking about the same tweet you mentioned...

I think that the only thing we can do for now is wait to see what they finally decided to do.

    A bit more patience...

Hi folks, quick update. I signed up as a beta user of the iPhone app 5.14 following the disastrous product changes in 5.13. I can report that the implementation of the "Explore Data" feature does return some of the essential functionality we have grown accustomed to over the past decade. You can see your real weight data in chart form. And you can see the total number of weight gained or lost per month. However, the implementation is clunky, very clunky. The chart bounces around. And is very hard to navigate. And you can still see your most recent eight at the endpoint. And all of the maddening features of 5.13 continue throughout the app. I listed the main ones above in a post. Fingers crossed that the app will return to what it once was.  This is a maddening experience!

A formerly useful product ruined by a breathtakingly incompetent software update. Withings stubbornly refuses to address pleas from formerly loyal customers for a return to previous functionality. It is a bitter disappointment.

Just give us the old software back.

The firsts days of every month are specially annoying since you only see a couple of points at the left of screen...

Praying for getting soon a new redesign that give us all the details.. (something better than 5.14 preview please)

    It's totally awful

Had walked away from this because it felt like the posturing from Withings was one of deflect, disregard. (Personally, the nail in the coffin was the non-apology of "We're sorry you're upset..." - haven't people learned this is not an apology?)

This posting is prompted by me maybe reaching a new low weight - and wanted to check the last time I might've hit this weight (yes some of us have had these scales for a very long time). Old graph with all data points made that super easy, scrub left until I see a data point dipping down. Pulled up the app to do the same. The graph rolls up weigh-ins per day, minimally. So no way to see single weigh-ins on a chart (if you're like me and hop on the scale morning/night).

Anyways - several months of vocal forums and <2 star reviews on app stores... and no change? No sign of intention to make good on the issues? The one week feedback didn't even ask the right questions.
And I understand this is me yelling into the void at this point. At least I can take the data I pulled from their export and plot it on my own services.

Good luck again to all that stick around. The problem seems so simple to me, and Withings seems so intent on not seeing it. I know the saying is never assume malice what can be explained by incompetence, but this is high levels of "It's either malice (in the form of dictating to us and not listening) and I don't want to be apart of that. Or they're incredibly incompetent, which I don't want to be a part of that either."

I'm done. And since I'm a tech person whom friends turn to often for advice on tech hardware... no more Withings recommendations.

I have no confidence that Withings is listening or even cares! The beta 5.14.xx is the same junk as they rolled out in 5.13.x and they are not listening or interacting with the beta testers. I have reported numerous issues and bugs with the beta versions and none have been addressed or corrected. I have never even been contacted by the developers to discuss issues I’ve reported! It’s all a farce!

I’m using the ‘Weight Diary’ app on iOS. Not as good as the last working version of the ‘Health Mate’ app but a darn sight better than Withings current offering. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/weight-diary/id410413185
