So, app has updated to 5.13.2, what happened to this comment?

On a short-term level, we also wanted to let you know that, following your feedback, we will add two features to our next Health Mate release: we will include a numerical trend on your graphs to see your weight progress and, for our Android users, we will also bring back the pinch-zoom in and out.

This new non-update of the app along with the fact that Withings have completely stopped engaging in this forum, is yet another indication that user happiness is completely irrelevant to this company.

All of these negative comments and STILL NO ACTION - a complete insult to users!  I’m ready to move on!  Anyone find a suitable alternative?

I am so annoyed with this new update. I’ve used the scale for years and weight almost daily now I can’t see my actual data on the graph instead these stupid averages. Also I lost 11lbs in the last 2 months it reports my weight as “stable” during that period. This is enough to make me go buy a different scale because I can no long track what I want to see on this app

Still waiting for the 5.14.. I hope that the UX/UI team have understood what the users need and want.

BTW don't forget to let the users move the chart dates freely without have to being locked in months, weeks..

the last-first days of the months, weeks, years are meaningul too and I cannot see them in the middle of the screen only in the left-right borders in the chart.

    The new app is terrible!!

I want to be able to see all my body composition measurements daily and see how my body water is changing.  I have six years of measurements and now the app is useless

We've been living with the new HM 5.13 app now for more than a month. My initial reaction was that it was a major step backwards. I've tried to live with it, but it really is very frustrating. Given how good HM 5.12 was, it's almost as if the UX team made a deliberate effort to design something "new" to sabotage the app. Even worse has been the response from Withings. I am very disappointed and disillusioned.

    Totally agree...
I've tried this weeks to be positive but it's impossible it's really frustrating and annoying.

I feel angry each time I open the app to see my progression or details...

If the next big update does'nt fix all this I'll find another alternative to withings

(And I've used withings for 10 years)

    @dean.brown.personal

For now, you can sideload the previous app version and un-check auto-update, on android at least.

As for scales, so far I've identified eufy (Anker) or Garmin products. The first one is cheaper and both as accurate, from what the comments say, and there is/was a scandal going on with how they process their data from they monitoring cameras. Garmin seems to be good, but more expensive.

GOODBYE WITHINGS!!  After YEARS of use of your weight scale and blood pressure monitor - I give up - the updated app sucks! and I see no evidence that you intend to fix it!  Just ordered both Garmin devices.  Withings devices are going to the dump!!

in the end, what matters is how the app processed the datas. it seems like Withing doesn't plan to give us a user friendly app. i don't think they understand how the scale is actually used and they are missing the whole point obviously.

so has anyone already tested alternative scales and their apps?

i think we all agree here, the main points are

    - to be able to zoom freely on the graph,
    - to see all the datas (weight, BMI, body fat, muscle mass, water weight) on the same screen
    - and to be able to see the actual variations, not only the ...ing "trend"

somedoby lent le a FitTrack scale, the App is better than the new Withing's iteration but still not there in my opinion

what about Garmin App guys? anyone has tested it yet? i don't mind the extra cost if i get what i want

I've just ordered an Oxiline "Scale X Pro" which (I believe) will work with the Fitbit Tracker app.

BTW... the Oxiline website is currently offering a 50% discount on all products.

    Hi Comrades,

The desktop site https://healthmate.withings.com/ still has all the excellent features, and I can use it to analyze my data, including the parallel view of each data point of weight, water, fat, and muscle percentages. So, I plan to use my Withings devices until final depreciation.

We may also share our thoughts on Twitter, where you can reach the founder Eric Carreel @ecaeca

For those of you that don’t know - you can download ALL YOUR YEARS of data from the online web application!  I just did so - hopefully to import into my new app from Garmin.  Get your data while you can!

    GOODBY WITHINGS!🤠

I could not understand the update provided by the company. Are they fixing this for iOS? I can’t tell. I guess I will look for a different scale. Who wants a scale that doesn’t tell you your weight??

Honestly, at this point, I doubt anybody in this company, besides those dealing with the app development, keep an eye on these forums. Complaining here leads to nowhere. Review bombing the app might help a bit, but nobody who's going to buy a product is going to look for the app score first, if at all.

As with any company, if you want it to do something, you need to affect its bottom line. Leaving bad reviews on the stores that sell their products would impact future sales faster and it might help them get their heads out of the sand...

I'm a developer and I understand that make changes needs some time...

I want to believe that withings team are working on it to bring us some kind of solution in the next version,
I'll wait to see this version before make any change or take a decision (one or two weeks, no more).

If the next version does'nt solve the bad decisions taken in the app then I'll say goodbye

Well I’m done! I don’t think Withing get’s it and are just going to continue with their big mistake, regardless what users want/need.
I’ll be returning my Body+ and trying out the Garmin S2.

I’ve been a Withings scale user for many years and have gotten many others to buy them as well. This is the single worst change to the product since I’ve used it. You’ve basically rendered a large portion of the weight tracking completely useless.

I’ll echo many of the comments above. The new weight graph is clearly something that maybe looked good mock-ups and sounded good to designers but is clearly a much much less functional and helpful version of the weight chart for people who actually USE the product. PLEASE PLEASE bring back something closer to the previous version.

    1) Show way more points at every zoom level. If you feel strongly about the new average trends show it as a secondary bar overlay while keeping the raw data accessible.

    2) Don’t snap the graph as you scroll horizontally (it’s now really hard to stop in some spots)

    3) Increase the size of the y-axis again. It’s really hard to feel motivated or see small vertical weight changes now.

    @Armelle

Could we please have an update from Withings?

If the app is going to be fixed, I will wait, but if not I want to start again with a different brand, as soon as possible. Withings owes its customers a sincere apology. Silence is the worst possible response.

    Thanks, Rick

I understand that you've probably beta tested and gotten a certain level of positive feedback and that is fine, regarding the 'average' weight readings, but I doubt you looked at risk management from alienating groups of people. You've killed the option to just look at raw data, which is utterly ridiculous; how hard could it have been to have a deep menu (to avoid the people who apparently can't do their own averages or have a basic grasp of a trend line...) option for raw data points. For all of us capable of tracking our own trends in our mind or body cycles on ups/downs from water weight, bathroom usage, etc... now we can't do that. We only get the 'dumb' version option.

Similarly, I'm often not interested in the IMMEDIATE period trend. Some people want to look at their weight trends over a couple of SEASONS like Summer weight vs. Winter weight over 2 years, maybe after the birth of a child, (hint, that's me). Maybe they also want to go back to some point when someone started a medication or had some ailment in the past that they want to see from that point to now. Congrats! That option is not gone, unless you want to see 'all.' I have 8 years of data on this scale. I don't want to see all, most of the time.

I'm chucking my Body in the trash and buying something else. At least I got ~8 years out of it.

I'am still hoping that a few important things get fixed in the next couple days. I'm not going that far and say the hole app is unusable, but there are a few things which need to be improved to have the old usability back.

First, the graph snaps to the hole week, month, etc.. Today is the last day of January and the latest measurement is at the most right edge of the screen and hard to read. Tomorrow will be a new month and the graph will only show ONE measurement and NO history.

Second, please bring back to option to see weight an fat on one screen. It does not help, if you see weight increasing on one screen, while loosing fat on another screen. These measurement belong together, because these measurement need to be seen in context to each other.

If possible, please bring back the trend line and stretch the y-axis so that the difference between measurement can be seen easily.

I am syncing my measurements to Garmin and Apple. Both have similar graphs, but without the named limitations. Garmin for example does also an averaging if the x-axis is set to one year, but if you tip on one value Garmin shows the min, max and arg for the selected week.

I hope that these simple fixes can be realised soon.

    Thanks, Daniel

Like so many here I am extremely disappointed with the changes. Makes my scales & the app totally useless for me. Why can’t you release the old format for the many who want it back? Anyone on here found a replacement? I’m ready to find new scales & app….. totally fed up with Healthmate!!!!!

Please make bring back an option to hide bmi when reviewing the weight graphs....

It's ridiculous trying to have both graphs shown at the same time on a phone screen... No real benefit to this

(I'm amazed someone actually signed off on any of the recent changes)

"We are confident that they will satisfy both the users who like the new graphs and those who don't."

I don't recall seeing anybody saying anything good about the new graphs... Yet were not given any reason for not just reversing the update.

Is that the same confidence that made the developers think the change was a good idea? 🤔

I, like many others, have already commented on how atrocious this new change is and how unusable (and unenjoyable) it's made many of the regular monitoring tasks we could do before.

I just realized this morning that what Withings really did with this change is just copy Apple's built in Health app weight page almost verbatim which probably makes them feel like they made a good design decision (we copied Apple with snapping, scale, point averaging, less vertical real estate, etc, what could be bad) but instead made their product much much worse for regular users.  Please please bring it back or improve this Withings!

Anyone know if there are any good iOS apps that can import all of my historical Withings data and that have good visualization and interactions (like Withings had for many years)?

One update I just received from Withings today in response to my recent App Store feedback:

"Hello, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the recent Health Mate weight trend update doesn't capture your preference. I appreciate you providing your insights. Our team decided to focus on average data as it is medically more meaningful. Please know that our UX/UI team is taking your feedback seriously. We've decided to reinstate the numerical trend in our next Health Mate version. I have forwarded the rest of your feedback to our development team. Please know that we continue to perfect the app to provide the best user experience. Have a good day"
