Ah yes - that is my bad. I was in the wrong place. Same layout here on Android.

@jetaylor, follow ccampbell78's direction. I did notice that the "Body Composition in %" slider doesn't update when tapped, but if you back up then re-navigate to Body Composition, your selection will be updated. So if you're used to Units (lb/kg) instead of %, it does work - though doesn't exactly indicate such.

Everybody I know who used this app has always said how much they love it.

I don't understand what the purpose of these changes were? Why change something that was loved by so many people, especially after apparently testing theory's on usage with a sample size of about 5 people?

Please, please give us the option of viewing our data like we did before.

    Dear Armelle

Simply put, your paying customers what results, not inaction from Withings and continued excuses.

Please answer the following questions by no later than close of business on 11 January 2023:

    1. Confirmation that the graphic display and functionally of the Health Mate App version prior to the 5.13 update will be restore; and
    2. If so, When!

Your post on 22 December 2022 that the update “improved the user interface and experience with new graphs” is, on any reasonable view, misleading and deceptive.

If Wirthings are not going provide clear confirmation of when the per 5.13 update weight graphs and detailed data display will be restored, then please confirm that Withings will provide a full refund to all customers who request the same in light of the product clearly being no longer fit for purpose.

Listen. Product / UX / Engineering team. We are speaking to you directly.

We know what you have tried to do, and we get the research that went into it. People should obviously look and care more about the trend - the daily results vary too much due to natural body fluctuations, bowel movements, water intake etc. This means that obsesing aboput the daily weigh is probably not healthy or scientifically recommended.

We are not idiots. We have all paid good money for a top scale with accompanying app. Your audience are generalyl smart enough to get this. You do not need to force the point.

Instead of trying to tell us HOW we should act, why don't you actually listen to what we actually do.

We understand that the principles of what you have tried to do are correct. A fat person knows they shouldn't have the kitkat.

But if your answer is to lock the cupboard with the biscuits in it we are going to be FUCKING FURIOUS.

Do not let pride absolutely ruin your reputations in the industry. Listen, change it all back, put a timeline on doing it.

    Hello everybody,

I've updated our official comment. Our app team has created a feedback form to get your feedback on the next update they are working on. Don't hesitate to click on the link and fill the form.

    Have a lovely day,

Hiding the old graph (be it with a preset duration and not zooming to the desired duration) behind the new graph will alleviate the main issue everyone complained about.

For me, it was already enough as it is. By pushing the current version of the app with minor revisions, your company just proves, even more, being unwilling to admit a fault. For me, this is the main reason for stopping to support any of your products.

Dear Armelle. It is not at all useful to ask now whether the tiny changes to the new graphical representation bring an improvement (and also to compare a yearly view with a monthly view). What is so important to us: a) we want the detailed graph back that shows all the individual measurements in every scale (year, month, week, all)  and b) we would like to see weight and fat on one page below each other ... that was so so so so so so so so so good!
Not to mention the other problems with scrolling and zooming the graphs.
    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi Armelle,
Thanks for the latest update but I don't think you or the developers are listening to the tone of the comments on here.
By all means, update the app and release it once it's in a usable state which it certainly isn't now.
In the meantime, act with some respect to your customers and revert to the previous version until the new version is fit to be used.

    Phil

    @Armelle

Thanks for the update. I have filled in the form. But, as expected, the new/proposed updates are of zero value (to me anyway). I deleted all my previous posts because I realized that the Health Mate app changes had become a source of significant stress (please see Brannan Coady's comments above, specifically about being FURIOUS), and stress is the exact opposite of what we all need on our health journeys.

I was using my Health Mate app as a source of daily motivation. The motivation came from the visual comparison between the actual data points and the trend line. Period. That's all I care about. It was helping me. That's gone now. I'm now using an Excel spreadsheet. My point is this: the new Withings UX design team doesn't seem to have a clue about the psychology of a significant section of their customers, or what they might want, or why. I am dumbfounded by the claim that the updates were "well-received" by the beta testers. That now seems like an even more systemic failure in whatever development processes Withings has in place.

    @ccampbell78

Thanks for your help!  I probably would have found it eventually, but was just getting so annoyed by constantly having to search in different places for the info that previously in the old app was in one convenient location.

I note my comment from a week back has now appeared after being in "pending approval" prison for over a week.

I also did a revert back to the old version, thanks to those pointing this out.!

So for now I am happy using the old app version as it was sold and intended "again", and waiting for the Back-Date, or call it a UPdate from what we have now.

I did notice Withings is bringing out a new product 2nd half 2023, I really find this product interesting, but if there will be also such unstudied UI as we got now I would rather not go for this, it just feels way less, Professional Medical, Health Science or  or, I did not buy the scale, to have a supermarket product feeling..

Another thing, maybe you should update the ECG and Heart Sound graphs also just to average and numerical presentation, I would be really curious how the end user would react to that!(and be more motivated to understand that some given things should not always be changed to be more"flashy"

I have just filled in the ‘feedback form’. From the questions asked it appears that the ‘app developers’ have no intention of listening to customer feedback.

We don’t want a tinkered about version of the latest disastrous update, we want the previous version that we were all happy with reinstated. Why is that so hard to understand?

After leaving a one star review in the Apple app store, I received a reply inviting me to join the beta test. I would encourage everyone here to do the same.

The message also includes the following:

"... I am happy to let you know that we will reinstate the numerical trend in our next Health Mate version."

I took the survey and quite frankly, this is UX gone bad and very wrong. This is the most insane over complication I’ve perhaps ever seen and it’s shocking.

Let’s break this down: there are two things we can see: 1) the average trend line, and 2) the detailed trend line.

Before, we could see both on the main screen.

Your belief is that we lack the mental capacity to not get overwhelmed by the detailed trend line, and so removed it.

    Everyone got mad.

Your solution is to keep only the average trend line, but to now put an “explore” button where we can be taken to essentially the old screen but ONLY for a month view.

This is insane, we want the functionality for all views — weekly, monthly, yearly, all. And there is no reason to have to make us click in every single time.

I want all of the freedom of the normal page of getting to see week, month, year but to still see the gray detailed view. You guys are over complicating this it’s insane.

****** THE SIMPLEST SOLUTION IS SO CLEAR ******

Simply add a toggle either in settings or on the chart screen to “Show detailed line” or not.

Since you don’t trust us, you can keep it default set to NOT show!! I don’t care!!! But let me enable it and then we’re good to go! That’s it! Problem solved. No need for this explore button nonsense.

    ***

********Oh and it wasn’t mentioned in the post, but we want the detailed view back for muscle and fat mass as well. Not just for overall weight.

    1. Please reinstate the trend line

    2. Please revert to having weight and body composition in the same window

    3. Please revert to earlier ability to zoom/scroll to different time periods (not be forced into week, month, quarter or year)

Or just revert to the older version of the app. If it ain’t broke…

PLEASE give us back the old, DETAILED charts for body weight, fat mass, muscle mass, BMI, etc. The new charts are absolutely unclear and lack any detail. To me, the detailed charts were the best feature of the App. Without them, the APP is almost useless.

From 2011 until 2023 (12 years) my weight has gone from 135kg down to 90kg…but over that time I’ve had a lot of ups and downs - gains and losses. When I click on ALL data before I could scroll left or right through the years and get to a specific day/weight in the chart. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: All data/graphs for Weighs, Fat, Muscle, Bone, Water, and BMI used to show on the same page and a vertical line running across all charts for the same day/measurement. That was SUPER informative to see how all your metrics shift. For example, my weight might have gone down, but muscle mass was down, and fat was up. And I adjust my lifestyle accordingly to gain muscle, lose fat, etc. Now, this is impossible. The chart for each metric is on a different page.

Also, when I delete a wrong measurement/entry it remains in the chart and across other apps via Apple Health. This is ridiculous. Sometimes I measure myself on the scale (before traveling) with hand luggage and suitcases to get an estimate of their weight. That extra weight sticks to my profile and messes up my stats and data COMPLETELY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

Since 2011 I’ve been your loyal customer! I use 3 Withings scales and 3 BPM (different models in different homes From the first models to the latest). I've invested A LOT. But that last App update (Health Mate) has ruined the experience COMPLETELY! An absolute DOWNGRADE is this latest upgrade.

My reviews over the years have always been 5 stars. Now I vote (politely) 2 stars

Please, at least give us the option to choose the chart style: detailed (as before) and a rough one as of now. Maybe some users like the new, super undetailed charts/graphs.

FORTUNATELY, I can still see this feature on the Withings Web page. PLEASE, at least don’t mess up the website https://healthmate.withings.com PLEASE

    Thanks

Please stop "working on a new update".
Just accept the tremendous mistake you made, and revert to the previous version ASAP.

Every day you wait you are just enforcing the experience that you don't understand your customers.

The new version you released cannot be fixed. Throw it in the trash where it belongs and take the loss to both your financials and your pride.

@ brannan.coady They really do think we are stupid. To add to your comments, when I called Withings to speak to someone live asking if there was any response coming I was read a canned response that started by saying “We realize that some users do not appreciate the new features in the recent update and want to revert back to the previous version.” We don’t appreciate what they did for us is their attitude. What they should have said is, ‘We are sorry we did a “beta” test that no one heard about then released an update that didn’t add features but subtracted features and then, we decided to release it all a week before New Year’s Day, our highest usage time of the year. We’ll revert to the previous version and work on an update that adds trends without subtracting other features. Sorry.’

Your response to this issue is not good.

Just make the graph exactly how it used to be.

Don’t incorporate certain things and retain other things.

    Just roll back the update.

    Don’t fix what wasn’t broken.

    Don’t update it.

    It’s fine.

Sorry people whose job it is to make changes to this stuff, sometimes you can just stop and be happy and move on to another job.

The app is useless now, I can’t use its data for anything.

Stable weight = 3kg loss in a couple months? Ok. Thanks for making me feel like I’m not making progress.

I am having problems with double entries on the weight every day. I have been going in and deleting one but it is getting tiring and it is using too much space. Please fix this. I presume it is with the latest update. Just started about 3 weeks ago

I too have been getting double entries since this new version was dumped on us! Every time I step on the scale, it duplicates the last entry, sometimes I get triple entries! I have been in contact with withings support about this since before Chistmas and they have been absolutely NO help!

You are not fitbit. your customers came to you because they have an interest in tech, data, and health. embrace it. fitbit is the worst, so you be you. To remove the fat mass and muscle mass graphs and replace it with BMI is laughable and kinda sad. BMI is useless - a 5'11" 180lb male with 11% bodyfat is considered overweight.

This is a total failure of your UX and design team and not understanding your users’ goals and needs. You went from advanced charting and analytics to a play toy for a casual, unserious health user.

Your advanced charting was a key way I lost so much weight as it gave me very granular, near real time data to constantly keep me on track. It feels like I went from web3 to Web 1.0. I need to start looking for alternatives.

another problem since the the 5.13 update: fat percent is now reported on the scale to be 20% rather then 10%. before the update.

One other missing feature (not sure I saw highlighted) not being able to look at the weight and body fat/muscle in the same view is also annoying.

I use the iPad software and on a big screen like that, it seems like that should be visible.

Just found that at least the website still allows this, but really the app should.

Trend line is gone, average line is gone, this stable weight is a sucker, not helping in any way. And needless to say, the deep blue color of the weight line is just not pretty, I liked previous light colors more, this one is old school and 90th. I am very disappointed that I’ll have to through the weights away and look for something new.

Can we at least have the option of removing the averages as main display? It is not at all what I want and frankly I have just started using a spreadsheet to follow my specific daily weight and not using the app.

I see the app updated yesterday to 5.13.2. It is no better and has not improved, even though that’s what the update blurb says. When are we going to get the interface and operability we used to have? what does Withings have to gain by annoying the most loyal customers and users?
