@dan.pike : I'm on Android, it does not matter.
I've also been told that my watch has a hardware issue (after I was not happy when they first told me my watch does NOT have any hardware issue).
I'm supposed to contact my reseller (Amazon) but from what I see it's pointless, people having their watch replaced have the same issue coming back.
I don't believe in the hardware issue 1 sec...
The problem is that I'm not aware of any "scanwatch" alternative :(
If you do, please let me know...

Just adding to the queue of people that have the same battery issue - I haven't changed any of my habits in terms of frequency opening the app, syncing, workouts or any of the settings that drain battery (Quicklook is off, spO2 is off, Respiratory Scan off, auto detect workouts on, same notifications on, etc). Currently running iOS 17.1 PB3 but been having issues ever since Healthmate v6.
I've gone from draining 4-7%/day to 13%/day. My watch used to last 2-3 weeks - it now lasts a week or less which is ridiculous.
I only really noticed the change after updating Healthmate to 6.0 - fairly sure I have been running the same firmware from before Healthmate 6.0.
The silence from Withings on this issue is really bad and especially dodgy around the recent launch of the SW2. I'm unable to downgrade versions via Testflight since the oldest version is 6.0...had anyone confirmed downgrading below v6 solves the issue on Android or iOS?

Downgrading the app didn't solve for me on Android.
It just broke the app dashboard...

Same problem here. My watch has gone from lasting 3-4 weeks to hitting 0% in 1-2 days - all since the last app update. It's also lost the ability to record Fitness Level, which is annoying, but this renders it basically unusable. I'm going to get in touch with them now.

I have same problem. In last couple of weeks battery drains in 3 to 4 days rather than a month which has been the case since I had the watch 2 years ago. Will someone form Withings pleas explain what they wil do to fix the problem?

I got the following back from customer service:
—————
The battery of the ScanWatch is rated to last up to 30 days. Keep in mind, however, that the use of the silent alarm, workout mode, ECG feature, SpO2 feature, respiratory scan, Quick Look feature, and notification feature will impact the watch's battery life.
Note that the use of the 'Always on' setting for the Respiratory Scan will reduce the battery duration to 5 days.
The more that the workout mode is used (such as when running or working out) or if you receive many phone, text, or calendar notifications, the less the battery will last in between charges. This can explain why you may experience a shorter-than-expected battery duration.
Because the way that the watch is used impacts its battery duration, we have put together a table that shows the different watch features and their impact on power consumption. You can find the table in this article.

However, my usage of the watch hasn’t changed but the battery life has dropped drastically in the past month. My customer service journey goes on…

Have the exact same problem!! Suddenly the battery life is down from a month to 1-2 weeks just recently

YES!!!! FIXED!!!
For me all problem started with new app 6.0. I got a replacement watch for free due "hardware issue" remotely diagnosed ... Got replacement and exactly the same
I have strava connected to the app. But since 6.0 was a blank screen on the watch. Unlinked strava .... BUM back to amazing battery life, been 4 days at that original rate were before I could not make it 4 days without recharge. Still report 100% due the fact it is a bit dummy on that but point is, back to great.
So it is a SW issue in my case. I need to relink strava and see if gets back to bad or stays like this

Thanks for sharing your experience @louis!
My replacement watch is on its way and I haven’t had much hope of it being better than my previous one am- until now.
Would be interesting to hear if anybody has the battery issue _without_ Strava sync enabled.

Hello, I complained to Withings, and after analyzing them, they informed me that it was a hardware problem, and they immediately proposed exchanging it for a new one, which has already been carried out. The new Scanwatch is working perfectly.

On October 9, I sent my Withings Horizon watch for exchange
I received a new one on October 11
Battery life of about 3 days when paired with the Health Mate app version 6.0.1
I'm enrolled in Health Mate beta testing after installing beta version 6.1.0 the watch was charged to 100% on 18.10. and today 23.10. the battery status is 80%, the battery life is again excellent
Can any of you try it with a watch that has not been replaced?
My operating system is IOS

Unlinked strava .... BUM back to amazing battery life
I can confirm @luis's findings: Strava account linking was causing the battery drain for me as well. I unlinked Strava yesterday, re-saved my watch screens to ensure that Strava was not on the list, charged to 100%, and have been running for 19 hours. My battery is down to 95% now where it would previously be down to ~60% after 19 hours. This looks extremely promising.
Edit: Although this did improve the last charge cycle, this didn't solve the issue. I only got 11 days of battery usage on the last charge cycle (which is still longer than what I've been getting), but on my current charge cycle I'm down to 62% battery after only a day, 52% after 2 days.

I don't have Strava, I have the issue. So it's not an universal fix.

@luis, thank you!! Unlinked Strava and on my Scanwatch syncing to iOS, my battery is back to normal. It's 98% after two days of use despite Withings' horrible customer service telling me I'd have to send it in and get a replacement since "it's a hardware issue". Yeah right!

I have the Strava application connected, the watch with the Healt Mate 6.1.0 beta version has excellent battery life again

@chmelan.pavol Where can I download the beta version? Or is it only available for iOS?

I had just been chatting to the support team (unaware of this thread) and they said:
"As of right now, our development team is currently investigating this matter as this all started after the update of the new version of the Withings app."

I don't have Strava connected so doesn't seem to be a consistent fix. It's definitely firmware and software.
I haven't changed usage patterns AT ALL and none of the super draining features are turned on for me or have changed in the past few months, but battery definitely has.

Out of curiosity I've seen a lot of comments from about iOS. Are there any Android users also suffering with issues? I also don't have a link Strave app.

Today the official update for IOS 6.1.0 was released, write if the battery life has increased

Yes! The problem for me seems to be “fixed” after disconnecting from Strava (on iOS). After 24 hours from last charge the battery of the watch is still at 100% as it used to be before the issues started. The last couple of weeks it would have been down to 40% or so. Thanks @luis for figuring this one out and hope the issues with Strava will be fixed soon as well. Also good luck for people who are still experiencing these types of issues.

@ipwright83: I had the issue on Android (13 and 14). I didn't even realize that I had Strava connected to my Withings account and I definitely didn't have the Strava app, as I don't use that. I had only created an account a few years ago to try out the Strava integration on the Steel HR, but I never used it and it was still linked on https://account.withings.com/partner/partner .

Thanks @matthew.cowell - I've only got Vitality health listed in there.

I have just been completely fobbed off by support.
The cynic in me finds it highly suspicious that this has all started happening shortly after the Scanwatch 2 is launched…
I have changed absolutely nothing in my usage of the device yet they cannot explain having gone from 20+ days battery life to 2-3 days practically overnight!
See response below.
Thank you for the update.
I appreciate that you took the time to perform the steps I provided. I was able to check the diagnostic data and it shows that the watch is not experiencing a hardware issue. However, the use of the silent alarm, workout mode, ECG feature, SpO2 feature, respiratory scan, Quick Look feature, and notification feature will impact the watch's battery life.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Thank you and have a good day.

I think that's the stock response in the first instance Thomas. I'd turn all those features off and try measuring it.
Interesting that at least 1 person has the same issue with the Scanwatch 2. https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/19465510789393

I decided to try doing a factory reset on my watch, and re-installed the latest Withings App on my phone (Android 14). I'm going to see if that helps or not, and record the battery drain both morning and night (I don't wear my watch overnight) to see how it performs.
I'll share a graph back here of how it fairs.

The person who posted about a battery draining issue on the ScanWatch 2 posted in the wrong forum. The post belongs in this forum as it specifically refers to firmware 2741 which is the current ScanWatch firmware. The ScanWatch 2 firmware is completely different (1701) and as far as I can determine is not causing any battery issues
