I tried clear cache again and you are right. It works until I visit notification section in the app. Unfortunately not very reliable. It works for a Phone app, but no notifications from Messenger and Messenger was definitely enabled in the menu. Will see how long it lasts but better than nothing. Thanks.

I am so annoyed. This Scanestch 2 is a warranty replacement for my 8 month old Scanwatch -/ and now this! I would never have accepted this replacement if i had known about this issue.

    Hello everyone,

Firstly, we want to apologize for the delay in resolving the issue of notifications on your ScanWatch 2/Nova and also for not providing you with an update on this matter. We understand your frustration regarding this issue, and we will ensure, from now on, to provide updates on its status on a weekly basis.

Additionally, I would like to inform you that we have received an important update from our Technical team: A new firmware update is planned to be deployed next week that will resolve the lack of notifications on your ScanWatch 2/Nova caused by the last firmware update.

If you wish to be prioritized in this deployment, please contact us via chat or email, providing the following information:

    • Your Serial Number (MAC) - You will find it in your Withings application (go to My devices).
    • Specify: "Notification Issue Firmware 1981 - ScanWatch 2/Nova".

Our customer support team will ensure that this information is relayed to our developers so that your device will be prioritized in this firmware deployment process. If you have already contacted us to report this problem, there is no need to do so again, as you are already on the priority list.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We understand that for many of you, this feature represents a key reason for your purchase. Thank you once again for your understanding and patience. As I said, I will keep you informed of any developments.

    Best regards,

    André, Withings Customer Service

    @andre

    Thanks for confirming this.

Funny thing though - I did that, reaching out to the support reporting the issue and providing my serial number, two days ago via chat (#2316044). But after about 40 minutes of waiting without a reply, I had to leave. Now, the request is "Solved" and I haven't received any reply whatsoever.
So once this notification issue is fixed, your team might check internally on how chat requests are handled.

    Thanks

Opened the app just now- saw that there was an update, completed update and watch restarted.

Tested text (iMessage) and Google voice - both went through (yay!)

    I’m in US.

Hope others get the update and are successful as well.

Same here, update to firmware 2091 arrived for me, based in Austria (Europe), today (25th of February 2024).
Can also confirm, that notifications are working without workaround so far.
In case of any issues, I will update this post.

I can also confirm that I have received a firmware update to version 2091, and it appears that notifications are finally functioning as they should. I will continue to monitor the situation, but it looks promising. Thank you, Withings, for releasing the corrective firmware earlier than anticipated. I hope that my other issue with irregular Fitness Score updates after workouts will also be resolved soon. Perhaps I will be as satisfied with the ScanWatch 2 as I was with the previous ScanWatch once that is addressed.

Indeed, I also received the 2091 and the notification problem is corrected.

I'll see if there are any other changes I find

I’m glad to see that the update is already rolling out and has addressed the issue. I haven’t received it yet, hopefully it will reach me soon.

Those who have already updated - perhaps the update also returned the “Hands” function? I find it frustrating that using any function of the watch makes the hands go to 10:10 position, making it impossible to tell the time.
If it has not been brought back, perhaps you could also express your view - there are a couple of posts on the forum regarding the issue and it’s important that Withings knows how essential that is.

For me it's the same as for manu, notifications seem to work in general, but WhatsApp notficiations don't with 2091.

I've already checked the settings, WA notifications are enabled, i disabled and re-enabled them. Also restarted the withings app and the watch. Still no notifications.

I don't understand, such a serious error in the software, such a long repair time and a gradual implementation time... a total failure for Withings

Guys it‘s just a Watch - the information policy of Withings was catastrophic, but some of you are exaggerating the problem… 2.5 weeks no notifications of the watch is not that very big problem in real life…

@charlene.cerny: try to switch off and then restarting your iphone, after that check if it works - otherwise restart your watch again (long pressing crown 15-20s until screen goes black). and recheck your notification settings in the withings app... it works with the new Firmware, or the problem is a configuration detail and not the withings firmware...

If it doesnt work after all above, chat with withings support...

Thank you BlueEyeDoc— just tried that and still no success. Watch is linked, notifications “on” in Withings app and IPhone— still no messages on the device 🤷‍♀️

Ok sorry to hear - perhaps try also manually clearing the watch Cache? (Long Press crown 5s til System menu appears, then some short press til clear Cache sppears - after that restart iphone again...

It should not still be an error of the firmware so it must be something "individual" with your configuration or device ..?!

I do agree with BlueEyeDoc, as i do agree that withings communication Is (not was) catastrophic, but the watch is a high end smartwatch, not just a watch. I bought the Scanwatch2, because it suited my needs & looks great. But to receive it with one of the essential functions missing ( no watch notifications) is just not acceptable. If i bought any  household electrical equipment or device costing this money, it would go back right to the vendor as ( in the words of UK trading standards its  "not fit for purpose" . In this case you have the right to return the watch, ask for a replacement or give the company a reasonable amount of time to resolve the issue. My problem with Withings (& i think a lot of there affected customers) was that they failed to respond correctly to affected customers. To offer an unreliable chat service & forums for customers to air there discontent is simply not acceptable. Their customer service is appalling & not acceptable. Try finding an email address for them - i did, when a company rep on this forum offered a small financial gesture for future purchases. You won't find one, because Withings will not publicise one.  How a high end  brand such as this relies on unreliable chat services & customer forums as its customer service in this day an age is not acceptable.

So - and here is another example of the way how you treat your customers:

Andre (yes, one of your staff members) posted this sentence in the french and in this forum:
"Once this problem is solved, we will contact you to offer you a small commercial gesture during a next purchase."

In this thread, the post ( https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/22369082873745/comments/22945134670353 ) was edited now and that one sentence removed. But you still can read it in a post from one of the users who copied the answer from the french forum ( https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/22369082873745-Problem-with-iOS-notifications-after-1981-firmware-update?page=2#community_comment_22828775665041 )

I contacted support about this promise and the answer was:
"Regarding your question about the compensation, I sincerely apologize. Please know that we did not release this kind of information. I can confirm that there's no compensation for the customers affected by the issue."

This is absolutely unacceptable! Yes, you made this promise! Here in this forum! So dont tell us that you never made it and edit the post where it was made .... seriously ... what kind of customer treatment is this?

BTW: the forum sends an email with the new posts every time someone posted ... I just looked into my emails and the original post from Andre in this thread read "Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We understand that for many of you, this feature represents a key reason for your purchase. Once this issue is resolved, we will reach out to you to offer a small gesture of goodwill for a future purchase." ... So withings support is lying to me + they edited their own posts to hide what they promised ... if they want the email as proof: we all have it ...

Same here, on Android! Moreover, battery depletes extremely quick.

Shame on you Withings, I feel like I am a guinea pig, with all these software issues! This takes too long!

HELLO. The ScanWatch 2 watch does not receive normal call notifications from the phone with which it is synchronized. Xiaomi Mi 9, with Android 10.

The TELEGRAM and WHATSAPP applications do show notifications on the watch.

Help I’m on iOS 18.4 tried replying to old support email as could not figure out how to contact them as they seem to have done everything possible to stop you. My scan watch two no longer vibrates or shows messages from iOS what to do. Yes I’ve read all their instructions and tips and my other smart watches work fine so I know that notifications are okay.

I have the Scanwatch Nova (HWA10) and am on firmware 2651.

iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18.4.

Since I got it a few weeks ago, the notifications work on and off. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Also the apps that I select to send notifications turn themselves off, so when I come back to the app they are toggled off even though I toggled them on a few hours earlier. I tried removing the device from the app, forgetting bluetooth, removing the entire app, factory reset. After a reset the notifications seemed to work for maybe a day max and then went back to being broken again. Looks like this issue came back as I saw Reddit posts talking about the same. Is anyone still looking into this actively through this thread?

There are many issues with notifications under ios 18.4. No notifications appear on the lock screen. Even a simple search on ChatGPT provides several sources regarding this issue I think we should wait for appel patch update. However, it is certain that we are not happy that the problem comes from Withings.
