    Hello everyone!

Thank you for your messages. I would be happy to answer all your questions.

@taikuri90: I’m sorry, the heart rate zone alarm feature is not part of the new firmware.

@withings: Please know that I have forwarded your ideas of having NFC support and deactivating the Bluetooth when ScanWatch has not been near your phone for some time to our developers.

Regarding the reminder to tighten your wristband when starting a workout, please note that it is not possible to deactivate it. However, the notification will automatically disappear after starting 5 workouts and reappear again if a workout has not been launched for a month (as it is the case already for ECG and SpO2).

@zafislam9: Yes, indeed. You will need to have Health Mate 5.9 (or higher) and the firmware 2421 in order to use all these new features. Also, you can find the information about the firmware on our website here.

Harel: Your request of adding the possibility to keep the screen of ScanWatch on display with low brightness has been shared with our development team :)

@istvan: If you have the firmware 2421 and Health Mate 5.9 (or higher) and are not able to access these new features, please contact us at https://within.gs/help

To everyone: our firmware is released in batches so we can make sure to provide a good experience to all our customers. If you wish to receive the firmware earlier than expected, you can let us know by contacting us at https://within.gs/help.

    Happy Friday!

If it doesn't have an off switch then maybe it would require another firmware update, I was hoping it would be customizable.

And if it at all matters, I'm in the camp that likes to optimize their interaction with devices. A simple reminder can become grating if you have to plow through it several times a day, and I don't really let a day pass without at least one workout. After a year, I'm looking at 500-700 reminders to tighten my watch. Which I won't because I have a comfort zone. I will never tighten or loosen my watch.

On a more personal level, I feel like I'm a big boy now and I can wear a watch without frequent reminders. It doesn't sound like much, I know, but I'm struggling to think of anything that you buy nowadays that doesn't have warnings or reminders. It's a watch. And yes, I can see why people would like reminders. I think they should have a switch.

Incidentally, the main reason I looked at Scanwatch and tossed the old one is because you can't really ruin the watch face with a software update. I specifically wanted a mechanical face.

P.S. I noticed the response notification, thank you for forwarding this.

    @Armelle Addendum slash bug report.

I just tried to manually do an oxygen reading and was met with "inconclusive". I repeated the measurement, same.

Weird. I tried ECG and the reading was normal. Tried SO2 again and it read 87 (clearly an error). I also noticed that while it counts down from 30 to 0, it kept the animation for longer, maybe 5-10 seconds with the graph going but the countdown gone. Then, error.

Opened the app and noticed that the app says "update available". Tried both SO2 and ECG with phone open, So2 failed, ECG works.

Updated the watch, tried SO2, first try, animation is correct, 98% (matches my own medical sensor).

Does this update kill the watch's ability to do measurements until one opens the app and updates the watch? Do all updates? Doesn't that have an effect on the integrity of the data?

Does the SO2 measurement involve the phone? Cause if it does I have an idea why I get erroneous readings when I sleep - I leave my phone away. I know in 2022 I'm probably an outlier.

    App is 5.9.1

    Watch is (now) 2421

    Hello @withings,

Thank you for replying. Please know that I updated my response to you in the comment above so I could give you more information about the reminder to tighten one’s wristband during a workout.

Regarding your questions, I assure you that the updates have no impact on the watch being able to record measurements, nor do they have any effect on the integrity of the data as well. Also, you should be able to launch a SpO2 measurement without having your phone next to you.

If you want, you can record a video showing your ScanWatch when launching a SpO2 measurement and send it to our team via https://within.gs/help. We will happily look into it for you.

    Have a great weekend,

Hi, good to see the activity reminder being added. This improvement has been looked forward to by many users!
Will it be coming to the Steel HR as well?

    Hello @brendanmillar,

Thank you for your enthusiasm regarding the new activity reminder feature. For now, we’re not planning on adding it for Steel HR as well, but I’ve shared your request to our developers.

    Happy Wednesday!

Disappointing naturally, as it otherwise fills my needs perfectly, but thanks for letting me know.

The reminder to move function is working well, however the message reminded me to move more "this afternoon" when it is 9:00AM! I think this is a bug to report @Armelle.

It would also be nice to be able to customise how many steps are required per hour, and which hours this feature is active.

    Thanks

I wish Withings would link their information better.

My Journal (or is it dashboard) says "Please visit your Health Mate application to update your ScanWatch."  But there is no indication or link on how to do that!!  Yet there is a perfectly good FAQ explaining it, but it takes a whole lot of steps and searches to find it.    Why is there no link from the message?

    @hmseligmann  @Armelle :

The expected behaviour of an electronic timer for me:
Countdown and display 00:00 while alarming.
Display the selected time after the alarm is cancelled.
Stay on the timer screen until time-out, and keep the selected time until next time.

Activity Reminder - is it based on hand movements or steps taken or other? In my case it has never showed up. For example I had 0 steps reported on graph in app in several periods ( life 8:00 or 11:00) or only 15 steps in other period. And no sign of reminder ( its ON in settings)

Thanks for the updates and for the engagement with the community Armelle.  Really liking the activity reminders.  There is the known "Fitness Level not working" issue, but that's being looked into which is great!

When in God's name will you release a fix for the Cycling? Or an option to turn it off? Live your hardware, but the software department must be on holiday all year?

I was excited about getting this watch, then I came on here and see the lack of support for it. Really making me think twice about it. I've see so many reviews of the watch not counting up to a third of their steps.

It would be good if the watch correctly recorded steps, my garmin, fitbit and phone all show at least 3x as many steps as the withings scanwatch and many other people struggle with it too. It completely put me off using the watch as it barely recorded 3000 steps a day! Also please show sleep apnea events, ie pauses in breathing. It along with the ecg was my main reason for picking the scanwatch over others. I'm in the uk.
