Same problem for me. I noticed condensation in the watch face today so I took it off and the back had detached. It was purchased in Dec 2021 through Amazon, so just out side of Withings  offer to compensate for the issue (3 years from D.O.P). I live in Australia so there is no chance of any help with it anyway. I loved this watch but after reading all the problems others are having I am so, so, reluctant to spend AU$600 on a new one that may only last a few years. If they could guarantee the Scanwatch 2 does NOT have the same issue I would consider it. How ever I will be looking at other options.

It seems I am having the same problem as you have been. I just sent an email to the support email. After reading the flow here, I am quite hopeless but see if they will offer any repair options.

I also wonder if there is any way we can lodge a complain in European institutions as customers. If it is a design fault and happens quite often, indeed they should recall the product and provide compensation. I am not an expert but I know the EU has some mechanisms to protect customers in such cases, especially when there is no grievance mechanism and processes are implemented.

I have similar problems. The back cane off my watch and there is condensation in my father’s watch.

Is there a support fix for these issues?

Same here. My scan watch has its back cover came off after 3.5 years today (5/26/2025). I bought the watch in December 2021. The worst part is that when I noticed the issue when the water got inside the watch after washing my hand. I took out to examine, and I saw the back cover fallen out. The watch is dead now. It’s beyond 3 years warranty for exchange program.
I love the watch and the brand. This is my second Withing watch. However, I don’t know if I get another one, and it will fail again right after the 1 or 2 years warranty. This back cover issue is critical design failure as the watch is also waterproof.

Same problem after 3 years of use.
I contacted the Chat and they offered me 25% and after I told them that I am not satisfied with this offer they went with 50%.
I will try the ScanWach 2 and hope that they fixed the issue.

I'm on my third Scan Watch, which is a Scan Watch 2. I hate that I'm giving in to the horrible customer service/company policy that doesn't address (or admit) their obvious design defect with the back coming off the original Scan Watch. It's such a shame.

I got the run-around the first time and didn't even bother the second time.

Have there been any reports yet of the Scan Watch 2 back cover coming off? I don't take it in the water, like the did with the original.

The product is rubbish. Don't let them persuade you to buy a replacement at 50% discount (which is still aot of money)
Also I won't be surprised if they don't post this.

i bought a scanwatch for my sister and yes the back came of too under light use.  after a loooooong discussion with their customer services she got a refurbished one only for the same to happen again. she was offered the 25% discount code which she never received and being fed up with their CS but liked the product she bought a scanwatch 2...does it happen with the 2 and the nova brilliant too is my question.. To be fair my old scanwatch , 3 yrs nearly, is still ok and been under constant use, never take it of even, but i have been warned i guess. Shame Whitings doesn't recognise there is a clear design fault and acknowledges maybe it s been fixed? Their customer service is so terrible and deliberately slow so most people give up on them 🙄

Same issue here, just noticed the back cover is loose. Reading the posts of others I see how lucky I was that my ScanWatch lasted since the beginning of 2022 until now, so something over 4 years. I wore it daily, never dropped it, did not shower or swim with it. When I was buying it I expected the plastic wristband to be the thing that would fail first since Withings sells wristbands so I also bought a metal wristband for it. The back cover getting loose, really surprised me, I expected the body of the watch itself to last very long and a failing battery being the thing that would push me to get a new watch. This back cover issue really seems to be built in obsolescence and I will completely avoid all Withings products in the future.

This seems to be a real big issue and problem ?

I liked my watch but this stupid problem when back case came off is really bad thing!

I used my watch two and half year and now it's totally damaged and support in withings is really very bad !
